EA/DICE acknowledged a Battlefield 2042 bug that stopped some players from aiming down sights after they exited a vehicle. A DICE Team representative said patch 2.1.1 included a fix and that the issue had been resolved. That statement documents the fix at the time; it does not establish whether the same symptom has recurred in a later game build.
What EA/DICE confirmed
In an EA Forums reply to the topic “Aim down sight (ADS) – bug,” DICE Team representative EA_Atic wrote: “We have resolved an issue that was preventing some players from being able to Aim Down Sights (ADS) after exiting a vehicle”. The representative also said: “With patch 2.1.1 we added a fix for ADS issues with Battlefield 2042.”

The confirmed scenario is specific: some players could not ADS after leaving a vehicle. The forum discussion includes player reports, but those reports do not establish how widespread the problem was. No affected-player count or recurrence rate is provided in the official material.
What the patch statement does—and does not—tell players
EA/DICE described the issue as resolved with patch 2.1.1. The available official sources do not establish whether this exact vehicle-exit defect has returned or whether it is present in the current game build. A current report of the same symptom therefore cannot be confirmed or ruled out from that historical statement alone.

EA_Atic invited players to add details to the forum topic if ADS issues appeared again. For a symptom happening now, consult current EA support or Battlefield 2042 update information rather than assuming the old fix guarantees that it cannot recur.
Not every ADS problem is the same bug
ADS field of view
Battlefield 2042 Update 5.0.0 discusses ADS field of view becoming active for all players and the effect of the ADS field-of-view setting. That is aiming-configuration context; it does not confirm the status of the vehicle-exit issue.

Weapon sight and attachment behavior
Update 7.0.1 lists separate ADS-related fixes: an Avancys sight-state alignment issue with certain weapon cosmetics, and a Laser Sight Underbarrel Attachment icon that could turn off while ADS. These are distinct from being unable to aim after leaving a vehicle.
