EA already reset Battlefield 6’s aim-assist tuning in November 2025, returning it to the values players experienced in Open Beta and Battlefield Labs. As of October 8, 2026, EA has said the tuning moved closer to that feel, but its latest preview did not confirm another specific upcoming aim-assist change.
What changed with Battlefield 6 aim assist?
In the November 17, 2025 update, EA reset aim assist to the Open Beta and Battlefield Labs values. At launch, the developers had increased slowdown at longer ranges. EA said player feedback and gameplay data indicated that the extra slowdown made high-zoom aiming feel less smooth and harder to control.

The stated goal of the reset was more consistent slowdown across ranges, while keeping settings adjustable for players who prefer a different feel. EA described the change this way: “This change keeps aim slowdown consistent across all ranges, helping with muscle memory and providing a steadier, more reliable feel as we move into future seasons.” (EA’s Update 1.1.2.0 announcement, November 17, 2025.)
The same update reset related options to their defaults. If your controller felt different after the patch, check your settings rather than assuming your previous values were retained.

Are more aim-assist changes coming?
EA’s October 1, 2026 look-back said aim-assist tuning had moved closer to the Open Beta feel. It did not announce a new, specific aim-assist adjustment. A later checkpoint, Update 1.4.3.0, covers a September 2026 release and does not identify another aim-assist tuning change in its cited update summary and player changelog. That does not establish that no related change appeared in any other communication.
EA’s preview discusses other Season 5 ideas as exploratory and says Season 5 is expected in 2027. Those points are not confirmation of another aim-assist change. The team cautions, “As always, everything discussed here is subject to change.” (EA’s Season 5 and Beyond preview, October 1, 2026.)

Can you turn aim assist off?
EA’s controller guide says console players receive aim assist automatically and cannot turn it off. The guide lists adjustable options including Infantry Aim Assist, Infantry Aim Assist Slowdown, and Zoom Snap. It also covers aim sensitivity, zoom sensitivity, input curves, and deadzones. The guide is available in Swedish, so some localized labels may differ from the wording in your game’s menu. (EA’s Battlefield 6 controller settings guide.)

There is no officially established best configuration. EA offers suggested starting points, not a universally superior setup: Infantry Aim Sensitivity at 30–40, and Infantry Aim Assist, Infantry Aim Assist Slowdown, and Zoom Snap at 100. Treat those as a baseline for experimentation, not a promise of better accuracy.

Change one setting at a time in the Firing Range so you can tell what affects your own control. Consider these areas:
- Close- and longer-range feel: Notice whether slowdown feels consistent as you move between engagement distances.
- Zoomed sensitivity: Adjust zoom sensitivity if aiming feels too fast or too slow while scoped.
- Slowdown and Zoom Snap: Experiment with their values if the aim feels too sticky near a target or does not feel responsive enough.
- Deadzone response: EA defines a deadzone as stick movement that does not register. Adjusting it may help address unwanted movement or make input feel more responsive, depending on your controller.
EA’s documented menu path for deadzone tuning is Controller settings > Edit Settings > Controller Tuning, under Other. Test changes with the controller you already use; EA’s guidance does not suggest that the tuning reset requires replacement hardware.
