Battlefield Studios has confirmed that “SECUTY,” the misspelled word on Battlefield 6’s McNeil standard-issue skin, is a genuine typo and is scheduled for correction in the game’s Season 5 Phase 2 update. The studio also clarified that the Midnight Mirage outfit’s visibly oversized loadout of five pistols was deliberate: it was designed as an exaggerated action-movie concept, not shipped by mistake. Phase 2 has been announced as the correction window, but no exact release date has been provided.
Why does the Battlefield 6 skin say “SECUTY”?
The McNeil skin displays “SECUTY” where “SECURITY” should appear, omitting the letters “RI.” The cosmetic became visible when Battlefield 6 Season 5 content launched on October 13, 2026. Battlefield Studios has acknowledged the error rather than treating the lettering as an intentional in-universe term.

Battlefield Comms, the studio’s official communications account, addressed the issue in a pinned post dated October 16, 2026. The post says a correction update is already planned for the Season 5 Phase 2 release. That statement establishes the intended update window, but it does not provide a calendar date, platform-specific rollout time or details about whether the fix requires a separate download.
Is the “Secuty” typo getting fixed?
Yes. The McNeil skin’s lettering is the item Battlefield Studios says it will correct. The planned change applies to the cosmetic’s visible patch; the cited announcement does not describe any other McNeil balance, model or texture changes.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Players should therefore expect the corrected spelling in a future Phase 2 update rather than an immediate hotfix. Until that release arrives, screenshots or gameplay captured with the current version may still show “SECUTY.”
Was the five-pistol Battlefield 6 outfit intentional?
Yes. Battlefield Studios says the five-pistol arrangement on the Midnight Mirage outfit is an intentional creative decision. The studio described it as an exaggerated action-film idea, using the familiar trope of an operative carrying an implausible backup weapon on every available part of their gear.

That means the pistols are not being listed as a visual bug alongside the McNeil lettering. The developer’s statement announces no redesign or removal for Midnight Mirage, so the outfit’s conspicuous weapon layout should be understood as its finished concept unless the studio later communicates a separate change.
How do the two Season 5 cosmetics differ?
| Cosmetic issue | Studio’s explanation | Planned action | Timing and evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| McNeil standard-issue skin: “SECUTY” patch | Spelling mistake in “SECURITY” | Correction planned | Season 5 launched October 13, 2026; Battlefield Comms confirmed a fix for Season 5 Phase 2 on October 16, with no exact date stated |
| Midnight Mirage: five pistols | Deliberate, over-the-top action-film concept | No correction announced | Explained in the same October 16 developer statement |
The distinction matters because both details attracted attention at the same time, but they have opposite statuses: one is an acknowledged production error, while the other is an intentional art direction choice.

What did Battlefield Studios say about its quality-control process?
The studio said it is reviewing how known visual bugs are communicated and examining its internal workflows and quality-control processes after the typo shipped. That is a process response, not a promise of a broader cosmetic audit or a published list of additional errors. Battlefield Comms also acknowledged player feedback, writing, “You called it out clearly, and we hear your concerns.”
No authoritative survey, named statistic or measured reaction figure accompanied the explanation. Available reporting documents the statements and dates, rather than an independent test of the cosmetics in live matches.

Did Battlefield 6 use generative AI for these skins?
The cited developer response does not confirm or deny generative-AI use. Public discussion raised the possibility, but the available statements leave that allegation unresolved. The confirmed facts are limited to the typo’s planned correction, the intentional five-pistol design and the studio’s review of its workflows and communication.
Accordingly, “SECUTY” should not be presented as evidence of AI-generated art, and the five-pistol concept should not be treated as proof either. Neither conclusion is established by the developer’s October 16 statement.
