The best solo quest loadout in ARC Raiders is a flexible, replaceable kit rather than a single “meta” weapon combination. A practical starting point from a June 2026 third-party guide is Bettina or Anvil as the primary, Bobcat or Canto as the secondary, a Light–Medium shield, Looting Survivor Mk.3, smoke, healing sprays, and optional lure and revive utility. Adjust that template to the objective, the map condition, and the amount of player-versus-player risk you are willing to accept.
Quest objectives range from visiting locations and collecting items to killing ARC machines. Travel and collection runs reward mobility, disengagement tools, and low replacement cost; ARC-combat quests need a weapon and healing plan that can survive a prolonged fight. No published source establishes one weapon pair as universally superior or gives a measured completion-rate advantage for any solo build.

Start with the objective, not the weapon
ARC Raiders quests do not ask you to do one kind of work. A May 1, 2026 roundup from PC Gamer, updated after the Riven Tides update, counted 100 quests at that point and grouped their requirements around three broad tasks:
Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchPC Slower Than It Used to Be?
A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11- Location objectives: reach and interact with a place while surviving the route.
- Collection objectives: extract with named materials or deliver them to a target.
- ARC combat objectives: destroy specified machines or complete a fight-related condition.
The distinction changes what “best” means. A low-cost mobility kit is sensible when the only purpose of a raid is to retrieve an item. A combat-focused setup is justified when the quest itself requires ARC kills. Carrying an expensive boss-oriented build on every errand increases the loss if an ambush, environmental hazard, or failed extraction ends the run.

The dependable solo template
The following combination is the clearest published starting point for ordinary solo questing. It comes from a June 2026 third-party guide, so it is a recommendation rather than an official balance statement or a controlled test.
| Slot | Suggested choice | Why it fits a solo quest run |
|---|---|---|
| Primary | Bettina or Anvil | Provides the main source of damage while leaving room to choose around the objective and enemy threat. |
| Secondary | Bobcat or Canto | Gives a second weapon option for changing ranges or a weapon swap when the primary is poorly suited to the encounter. |
| Shield | Light–Medium | Balances protection with the mobility needed for travel, looting, and disengagement. |
| Augment | Looting Survivor Mk.3 | Supports a quest loop built around collecting and extracting items. |
| Utility | Smoke; add lure or revive when appropriate | Smoke creates an escape or crossing opportunity. Lure can redirect attention, while revive utility is useful when a downed-player recovery is part of the plan. |
| Healing | Spray healing | Lets you recover during a long objective run without treating every hit as a reason to abandon the raid. |
The guide does not establish exact item counts, a universal inventory layout, or a guaranteed best pairing. Use the table as a role-based template: one primary damage option, one backup, enough protection to survive a mistake, and utility that helps you break contact. Do not spend scarce equipment simply to reproduce the list literally.

How to assemble it before deployment
- Read the quest text and mark its dominant task. If it names a location or materials, start from the travel-and-collection version of the template. If it names ARC enemies, reserve more capacity for ammunition, healing, and combat utility.
- Choose the primary around the expected fight. Bettina or Anvil are the cited baseline choices, but the source does not rank their damage or handling. Select the one you can use reliably under pressure.
- Add the secondary for a different problem. Bobcat or Canto should cover a range, reload situation, or target type that your primary handles less comfortably. The value is flexibility, not a claimed damage ranking.
- Fit the Light–Medium shield and Looting Survivor Mk.3. This keeps protection and carrying-oriented progression in the same build without committing to a heavy, high-replacement-cost setup.
- Reserve an escape slot. Smoke is the default disengagement tool. Add lure or revive only when the objective, squad situation, or available inventory justifies the extra cost.
- Bring healing before extra damage. A quest fails when you cannot recover from attrition. Carry spray healing first, then fill remaining capacity with offensive supplies.
- Set a loss limit. If replacing the kit would delay your next quest attempt, downgrade the weapon or utility before entering. A completed objective with modest gear is more valuable than an abandoned objective carrying your most expensive inventory.
Primary-weapon choices: Bettina versus Anvil
Bettina and Anvil are the two primary names in the cited solo template. Available material does not provide their damage-per-second figures, recoil measurements, ammunition economy, or a head-to-head test, so it would be misleading to declare one the universal winner.
When Bettina makes sense
Use Bettina when you already handle it confidently and expect the primary weapon to do most of the work. Familiarity matters more than an unsupported theoretical ranking: missed shots, panic reloads, or poor target selection cost more than a small difference that has not been measured publicly. Keep smoke available so an awkward engagement does not force you to finish every fight.
When Anvil makes sense
Choose Anvil when it better matches your practiced range, movement, or target selection. The solo recommendation places it beside Bettina rather than below it, which supports treating the two as alternatives for the same role. Test your own comfort with the weapon in lower-cost raids before risking it on a quest carrying rare materials.

What the sources do not prove
- Neither weapon is documented as the highest-DPS solo option.
- No success-rate study shows that Bettina or Anvil increases quest completion by a specific percentage.
- The recommendation is not an official Embark loadout or a permanent promise that balance will remain unchanged.
Secondary choices: Bobcat or Canto
Bobcat and Canto fill the backup slot in the same June 2026 recommendation. Think of the secondary as insurance against a bad engagement rather than a second copy of the primary. Pick the one that gives you a practical answer to a different range, a depleted magazine, or a target that your first weapon handles poorly.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Because no source supplies a weapon-stat comparison, avoid building around claims such as “Bobcat is always better at close range” or “Canto has the best damage.” Instead, define the job before you deploy: quick swap after a reload, an alternative range, or a way to finish a damaged ARC without exposing yourself to another long exchange.
Shield, augment, healing, and utility
Why the Light–Medium shield is the default
The cited solo kit uses a Light–Medium shield because questing asks you to move, loot, and extract as well as fight. The available evidence does not give exact movement penalties, capacity figures, or a laboratory comparison with heavier protection. The defensible conclusion is narrower: it is the guide’s balance-oriented recommendation, not proof that it is optimal for every map or player.
Looting Survivor Mk.3
Looting Survivor Mk.3 fits collection work and the economic reality of solo play. A quest run often carries items whose value is realized only after extraction. The augment therefore supports the purpose of the raid instead of adding damage that may never be needed. If a quest is exclusively an ARC-kill challenge, reassess whether a looting-focused augment still serves the objective better than another survival option available in your inventory.
Smoke as the essential disengagement tool
Smoke is the most consistently useful utility in the published template because it addresses several failure states: crossing exposed ground, breaking line of sight, recovering after a hit, and reaching extraction while pursued. Use it to leave a losing fight, not only to begin one. A solo player cannot rely on a teammate to create a second angle, so a deliberate exit is often the safest play.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsLure and revive utility
Lure is conditional. It can draw attention away from your route or create a window to search and move, but it consumes inventory that could otherwise hold healing or quest items. Revive utility is similarly situational: include it when the run’s rules or your group context make a recovery possible and worthwhile. The guide names both as options, not mandatory equipment for every solo deployment.

Spray healing
Healing sprays belong in the baseline because quest routes create cumulative damage even when no single encounter is decisive. Heal after you have created safety with distance or smoke; using recovery in the open can turn a manageable wound into a lost run. The available material does not establish a required number of sprays, so fill the slot according to the value of the objective and your replacement budget.
Builds by quest type
Location and travel quests
For a location visit, use the baseline weapons with the lowest-cost versions you can replace comfortably. Keep the Light–Medium shield, Looting Survivor Mk.3, smoke, and healing. Your priorities are:
- Reach the interaction point without taking unnecessary fights.
- Keep enough stamina, health, and utility for the return route.
- Leave immediately after the interaction rather than searching nearby areas without a quest reason.
A lure can help when an ARC patrol blocks a narrow approach, but do not trade away healing merely to avoid one encounter. The goal is reliable arrival and extraction, not a map-wide clear.
Collection quests
Collection runs are the strongest case for a low-cost kit. The loss of a rare material can erase the purpose of an expensive combat loadout. Use the Light–Medium shield and looting augment, prioritize carrying room, and keep smoke for the final approach and extraction. If the material is difficult to replace, leave optional loot behind rather than turning a focused retrieval into a high-value inventory gamble.
ARC-kill quests
ARC-combat objectives justify putting more of your replacement budget into weapons and ammunition. Keep both weapon slots functional, carry enough spray healing for a drawn-out encounter, and retain smoke for the disengagement that follows the kill. Do not copy a boss-fighting build as the default for every quest: the cited guide separates solo, PvE/boss, PvP, and budget approaches, which indicates that threat level should drive the equipment choice.
What the To the Skies quest changes
PC Gamer’s October 9, 2026 walkthrough for To the Skies illustrates why a single combat build cannot answer every quest. The objective requires you to scan a crashed probe and a courier, collect four named ARC materials, and repair a Gondola Prototype.

The required materials are:
- Arc Performance Steel
- Pop Trigger

This is a scan-and-collection route with a repair step, not simply an ARC-kill assignment. Bring the collection-oriented template, preserve carrying capacity for the four parts, and use the walkthrough for the exact route rather than inferring locations from a weapon guide. The four material names are established; a loadout source does not establish where each one spawns or the safest path between objectives.

Choose the right matchmaking risk
PvE matchmaking beta: October 13–20, 2026
Embark announced a temporary PvE matchmaking-toggle beta running October 13 through October 20, 2026. In PvE servers, player-to-player damage is disabled, but overall loot value is lower. The option is unavailable for the Night Raid, Locked Gate, Hidden Bunker, Frigate, and Redirection map conditions.
| Mode or condition | Player damage | Loot value | Availability or rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| PvE beta server | Disabled | Lower than standard matchmaking | Announced for October 13–20, 2026; excluded map conditions apply. |
| Standard matchmaking | Player combat remains possible | Standard value | Use when the beta is unavailable or when normal loot value matters more. |
| Night Raid, Locked Gate, Hidden Bunker, Frigate, Redirection | Use the rules of the available queue | Use the rules of the available queue | These map conditions are excluded from the PvE beta. |
PvE reduces the threat from other Raiders, not from the environment. ARC enemies can reacquire downed players after the stated grace period, so a down is still dangerous. Check the matchmaking menu when you queue: the beta is time-limited, and the current menu is the authoritative indication that the toggle is available for your account and selected map.
Solo vs Squads for level-40 Raiders
Embark’s January 27, 2026 Headwinds notes added Solo vs Squads for solo Raiders at level 40 and above. Eligible solo players enter the Squads queue and receive a stated 20% end-of-round XP bonus on extraction or defeat.
This is an opt-in higher-risk choice, not the low-risk default for quest completion. Use it when the experience bonus is worth greater exposure to coordinated players and when losing the carried objective will not set back your progression. For a fragile collection run, ordinary matchmaking or the temporary PvE option is usually the more sensible risk decision.

Replacement cost is part of the build
Solo players absorb every loss themselves. That makes replacement cost a performance concern even though it is not a weapon statistic. A kit that takes several successful raids to rebuild can reduce your actual quest throughput if one failed extraction forces a long recovery period.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
- Use premium gear for premium objectives. Reserve expensive weapons and utility for quests that demand difficult ARC combat or materials you cannot safely retrieve with a budget kit.
- Keep a repeatable fallback. Store a second, cheaper version of the primary/secondary plan so a failed attempt does not end the quest cycle.
- Do not over-loot. Once the required material is secured, extra value increases the amount you can lose without improving quest progress.
- Separate risk from ambition. Solo vs Squads may improve XP, but the 20% bonus does not compensate automatically for losing a rare objective item.
Patch awareness and changing equipment
Embark’s October 13, 2026 Store Update 2.1.0 included fixes affecting gameplay, quests, maps, items, and traversal. Because those systems can change how a route or weapon behaves, recheck the current patch notes and matchmaking menu before relying on an older route, interaction, or equipment assumption. The Bettina/Anvil and Bobcat/Canto setup is dated guidance from June 2026, not a permanent balance guarantee.
Solo quest launch checklist
- Confirm whether the objective is location, collection, ARC combat, or a mixture.
- Choose Bettina or Anvil as the primary only after considering which one you can operate reliably.
- Choose Bobcat or Canto to cover a different practical combat need.
- Equip a Light–Medium shield and consider Looting Survivor Mk.3 for collection-focused work.
- Carry smoke and spray healing; add lure or revive only when their specific use outweighs the inventory cost.
- Check the current matchmaking menu for the PvE toggle and verify whether the map condition is excluded.
- If level 40 or above, decide explicitly whether the 20% Solo vs Squads XP bonus is worth the extra PvP exposure.
- Leave enough carrying room for named quest items and enough utility for the extraction route.
- Set a replacement-cost limit before you deploy.
- After a death, rebuild the cheapest functional version first rather than delaying the next attempt for a perfect kit.
Common failure points and corrections
Failure: treating every quest as a firefight
Correction: Read the objective again. If it asks for a scan, visit, or material, disengage from unnecessary ARC encounters and preserve health, smoke, and carrying capacity.
Failure: taking an expensive combat build on a low-value errand
Correction: Downgrade to a replaceable version of the solo template. The quest reward is the objective completion, not the opportunity to risk your best inventory.
Failure: assuming PvE removes all danger
Correction: Player damage is disabled during the beta, but ARC enemies and downed-player reacquisition remain threats. Keep healing and an escape plan.
Failure: using the 20% XP bonus as a default recommendation
Correction: Solo vs Squads places you in the Squads queue. Choose it only when you knowingly accept the higher-risk environment and meet the level-40 requirement.
Failure: relying on an old route after a patch
Correction: Check current patch notes, especially after Update 2.1.0, which addressed gameplay, quests, maps, items, and traversal.
Bottom line for solo Raiders
Start with Bettina or Anvil, Bobcat or Canto, a Light–Medium shield, Looting Survivor Mk.3, smoke, and spray healing. Then modify the kit according to the quest: low-cost and mobile for travel or collection, more combat capacity for ARC-kill objectives, and a deliberate matchmaking choice for PvE or Solo vs Squads. The strongest solo loadout is the one that completes the specific objective and can be replaced after a bad raid—not a weapon pair presented as universally best.
