Why the build is a tradeoff
The barrel is meant to improve range and velocity, while the foregrip and Recoil Springs target the rifle’s recoil. Extended Mag 2 provides more room for the AS VAL’s ammunition use, at the cost of choosing a magazine attachment slot. Commando Grip prioritizes getting the weapon up quickly after sprinting and aiming. The result is intended to broaden a close-range weapon’s usefulness rather than turn it into a dedicated long-range rifle.

How to adjust the attachments for your playstyle
If the iron sights are uncomfortable
An optic is a reasonable personal swap if you struggle to track targets with the iron sights. PC Gamer suggests considering Gunfighter to make room for an optic on its five-attachment setup. The AS VAL has an integrated suppressor and no muzzle slot, so that guide says Gunfighter is not necessary merely to complete its recommended build. Check the live Gunsmith and wildcard rules before committing, since the guide predates later balance updates.

Why this is not a guaranteed October 2026 meta build
Activision’s Season 04 2025 patch notes changed AS VAL attachment balance: they increased the Reinforced Barrel’s range improvement from 20% to 30% and the Gain-Twist Barrel’s bullet-velocity improvement from 50% to 55%, and also listed adjustments to Recoil Springs and other attachments. Those are documented 2025 changes, not confirmation of the values or best configuration in October 2026. Activision wrote, “Our goal is not for every attachment to be viable on every weapon. Do not copy a Warzone AS VAL build into multiplayer
Warzone and Black Ops 6 multiplayer have mode-specific weapon tuning, so a Warzone build is not a multiplayer ranking. WZRanked’s Warzone Season 5 Reloaded 2026 build, last updated August 4, 2026, lists Suppressed Gain-Twist Barrel, Vertical Foregrip, Extended Mag II, Balanced Stock, and Recoil Springs.
