For the safest first haul of Metal Scraps in Enshrouded 1.0, fast-travel to Cinder Vault and break the metal urn pods in the starting chamber with a pickaxe. Once you can handle level-one enemies, Rookmore in the Springlands is the better repeatable farm because one settlement combines Scavenger drops, containers, loose pickups and destructible metal objects. Cinder Vault is a short, combat-free collection run with a reported five scraps per urn pod and an approximately 45-minute respawn; Rookmore has more sources but requires fighting and looting.
What is the best early Metal Scraps farm in Enshrouded 1.0?
Use a two-stage plan. Run Cinder Vault first when your character is under-equipped or needs materials immediately for early Blacksmith progression. Switch to Rookmore when you want an active loop that can be repeated through enemy, container and object loot.

| Route | Combat | Setup | Reported yield or timing | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cinder Vault starting chamber | None | Flame Altar fast travel and a pickaxe | Five Metal Scraps per urn pod; pods reported to respawn in about 45 minutes | Safest opening haul and material top-ups |
| Rookmore settlement | Level-one Scavengers | Basic weapon, healing items, stamina food and inventory space | Each enemy can drop 0–5 scraps; containers, pickups and destructible objects add variable loot | Denser, repeatable active farming |
No reliable scraps-per-minute figure is established, so choose by risk, travel time and whether you are willing to wait for respawns rather than by a claimed hourly rate.
How do I farm Metal Scraps at Cinder Vault without fighting?
Cinder Vault is the best no-combat route for a new character. The starting chamber contains metal urn pods in wall niches, and the current 1.0 route report says an individual pod can provide five Metal Scraps.

- Games Workshop
- Fast-travel to the Cinder Vault Flame Altar.
- Go through the round doors to return to the original starting chamber.
- Use a pickaxe on every metal urn pod in the wall niches.
- Collect the drops, check that they entered your inventory, and leave the chamber.
The same 2026 guide reports a respawn of approximately 45 minutes for the pods. Immediate logout is no longer reported to reset them, so leaving and re-entering right away should not be treated as a reset method. Reset behavior can change with patches; the newer 1.0 report takes precedence over older advice.
When should I choose Cinder Vault?
- You have no dependable weapon or healing stock.
- You need a first batch for Nails, a tool, the Forge or another Blacksmith-related unlock.
- You prefer a predictable, low-risk run and can wait for the reported respawn timer.
A pickaxe is essential. Without one, the urn-pod route does not provide its intended haul.
How do I run the Rookmore Metal Scraps loop?
Rookmore is the stronger active farm because its settlement concentrates all four practical scrap sources: Scavenger drops, physical pickups, searchable containers and destroyed metal objects.
- Travel north from the starting area toward Braelyn Bridge.
- Descend into the Shroud with a glider or Grappling Hook when one is available.
- Continue northwest until you reach Rookmore.
- Clear the level-one Scavengers.
- Loot every defeated enemy, then search tables, crafting stations, furniture, chests and floors.
- Break metal-looking camp objects and collect any loose scraps before leaving.
The route source reports 0–5 Metal Scraps per enemy, not a guaranteed drop. A full clear is therefore more dependable than stopping after one or two kills. Bring healing items, a basic weapon, open inventory slots and stamina food. The guide specifically reports that Honey grants 30 Stamina Regeneration for 60 seconds, which helps with the approach and repeated movement through the settlement.
Why does Rookmore outperform a single-object route?
Even when an enemy gives nothing, the settlement can still pay out through a chest, floor pickup or destructible. That source density also lets the run contribute to ordinary scavenging and early Blacksmith or Forge progression instead of producing only one type of interaction.
Do Metal Scraps come from mining?
No. Metal Scraps are scavenged or recovered from human-made objects, not mined like stone or ordinary ore. The practical sources identified for early play are:
- Scavenger enemy drops.
- Loose physical pickups.
- Searchable containers such as chests and settlement storage.
- Metal objects destroyed with suitable tools or attacks.
Metal Scraps are documented as a level-5 common material with a stack size of 250. Treat them as a loot-and-salvage resource: search settlements and break appropriate objects rather than looking for an ore vein.

Choose Cinder Vault if safety matters most
The chamber has no hostile enemies, requires only a pickaxe and has a clearly reported per-pod yield. Its limitation is downtime: once the pods are emptied, the route depends on the reported approximately 45-minute respawn.
Choose Rookmore if you want activity and density
Rookmore asks you to travel through the Shroud and fight, but it offers several independent ways to find scraps in one location. It is the better choice when you have basic combat supplies and want a run that continues producing loot while you search every surface and container.
Do not plan around a fixed rate
The available guides report per-object and per-enemy yields, not a verified scraps-per-minute number. Travel distance, enemy drops, container contents and the current reset state all change the result, so an exact rate would overstate what is known.
What changed from older Metal Scraps farming advice?
A January 31, 2024 guide described two-hour enemy respawns and logout-based resets. The newer October 2026 1.0 guidance instead reports approximately 45-minute Cinder Vault pod respawns and says logging out no longer immediately resets those pods. Because reset rules are patch-sensitive, follow the newer behavior and avoid relying on logout tricks unless a current update explicitly confirms them.
What should I bring before leaving for either farm?
- Cinder Vault: a pickaxe and enough inventory space for the pod drops.
- Rookmore: a basic weapon, healing items, stamina food and open inventory slots.
- Either route: a return plan, since the value comes from collecting every drop rather than abandoning partial loot.
Enshrouded’s official Steam listing describes the game as a solo and co-op survival action RPG. The routes work for a solo character, while a group can divide combat and looting duties; the scrap yields themselves remain variable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does every Rookmore Scavenger drop Metal Scraps?
No. The reported range is 0–5 scraps per enemy, so some kills provide none. Search the settlement’s containers, floors and destructible objects to make up for unlucky enemy drops.
Is there a guaranteed number of scraps in one Rookmore run?
No fixed total is established. The final amount changes with enemy drops, container contents, loose pickups and which metal objects are present when you arrive.
Can I use the Cinder Vault route if I do not yet have a weapon?
Yes, provided you have a pickaxe. The starting chamber has no hostile enemies, making it suitable before you are equipped for Rookmore.
Why should I leave inventory slots open for this farm?
Rookmore can produce scraps from several loot categories during one clear. Empty slots reduce the chance that a full inventory prevents you from collecting later drops.
