Current offers for Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Prime Gaming/Amazon Luna could not be confirmed, so check those storefronts directly rather than relying on older roundups.
Free games to claim now: verified offers
PC Gamer’s Epic Games Store listing, last updated October 8, reports these two games as free to keep from October 8 through October 15, 2026. The offer window is open on October 13, but the listing is a secondary source and availability can vary by region or change; confirm that each game still shows as a free claim in your Epic account before checkout.

The listed prices are the titles’ usual prices as reported by PC Gamer, not a claim that every regional store displays the same price. PC Gamer’s free-games listing has the offer details; Epic says it offers a new free game every Thursday on PC and mobile and directs players to its free-games page.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchHow to claim the Epic offers
- Open the Epic Games Store on PC or visit its free-games page, then sign in to the account where you want the games.
- Open the listing for Out of Sight or TerraScape. Verify that the storefront shows a free claim and that the offer is still live for your region.
- Complete the $0 checkout before the displayed deadline. Confirm the title appears in your account library.
Claiming within a free-to-keep promotion adds the game to your account; it is different from merely playing during a temporary access period. If your local store does not show the free offer, do not assume the reported deadline overrides the live regional listing.

What is not confirmed on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Prime Gaming
A current list should distinguish a free claim from temporary access and subscription access. The available platform reports do not establish a complete, current October 13, 2026 inventory for Steam, PlayStation, or Prime Gaming/Amazon Luna.
- Steam: An October 10 roundup reported Pony Island free to keep through October 12, plus free weekends for ARC Raiders, Core Keeper, and Squad 44. Those offers had expired or were expiring by October 13, so they are not safe recommendations without checking Steam’s live listings. The dated roundup illustrates how quickly a claim can go stale.
- Xbox: Xbox Wire announced an October 1–4 Free Play Days event featuring Far Cry 6, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, and The Crew Motorfest. That event is over. Xbox said Game Pass membership was not required for that particular event; that detail does not establish the requirements for other Free Play Days promotions. Xbox Wire’s announcement gives the event dates and terms.
- PlayStation and Prime Gaming/Amazon Luna: An October 8 cross-platform roundup combines subscription catalog games, giveaways, and other limited-time offers, including entries that were already expired. It does not verify each service’s current lineup or eligibility on October 13. The roundup can point to possibilities, but check the platform’s own current listing before treating a game as claimable.
Free-to-play, free-to-keep, demos, and free weekends are different
“Free game” can mean several different things. Check the offer label and terms before deciding whether a title will remain in your library or only work temporarily.
Rank #2
- XBOX GIFT CARD: Buy full digital game downloads, game add-ons, in-game currency, memberships, devices, apps, movies, TV shows, and more.
- DIGITAL GAMES: Choose from hundreds of games, from AAA to indie options. Start playing the moment your most anticipated game is available when you pre-order and pre-download it.
- GAME AD-ONS: Extend the experience of your favorite games with add-ons and in-game currency.
- MOVIES & TV SHOWS: Rent or buy new and popular movies and TV shows from a massive library.
- PERFECT GIFT: Great as a gift for a friend or yourself. Xbox Gift Cards are easy to use, never expire, and give the freedom to pick the gift they want. Enjoy more ways to play without a credit card attached to your Microsoft account.
- Free to keep: A time-limited promotion lets you claim the full game during a stated window. The Epic offers above fall into this category.
- Free-to-play: The game is listed at no purchase price rather than being a short giveaway. Epic’s catalog includes titles such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Genshin Impact, and Fall Guys. These standing free-to-play listings are not the same as the weekly free-to-keep promotion. Epic’s free-games page separates its weekly promotions, free-to-play games, and demos.
- Demo: A sample or limited portion of a game, not the full game entitlement.
- Free weekend or Free Play Days: Temporary access that ends when the event does; it does not by itself mean the game is yours to keep.
- Subscription catalog: Access tied to an active subscription and the service’s catalog terms, rather than a permanent free claim.
Check before claiming
- Confirm the title is still marked free on the live storefront and note the deadline shown there.
- Check the platform and device: the verified offers here are for PC through the Epic Games Store.
- Read whether the offer is free to keep, free-to-play, a demo, temporary play, or subscription access.
- Check account, subscription, and regional eligibility in the offer’s own terms; do not transfer one event’s requirements to another.
- Claim before the displayed cutoff and verify the game appears in your library.
Epic’s official page describes its weekly cadence and promotion categories, while the individual October 8–15 titles are reported by PC Gamer. The exact live status can change before the stated cutoff, so the storefront’s offer page is the final check.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
