For Xbox, do not use the G7 Pro’s 1000Hz polling option: GameSir’s troubleshooting guidance says to ensure it is not selected if the controller lights up but does not register input. On PC, GameSir documents 1000Hz over both wired and 2.4G connections, though that capability does not guarantee a noticeable improvement. For stick dead zones, curves, and trigger behavior, there is no single best preset for every game or player; start conservatively and tune one control at a time.

Xbox
Use a polling rate supported by the console. In particular, if the controller indicator is on but button or stick input is not registering, check the polling setting and make sure it is not set to 1000Hz. That is GameSir’s specific troubleshooting advice for Xbox; the PC polling specification should not be treated as an Xbox recommendation. GameSir G7 Pro FAQ
PC
GameSir says the G7 Pro supports 1000Hz polling on PC over both wired and 2.4G connections. Choose the connection you intend to play on, then confirm the selected mode and the game’s input settings. A higher polling rate is a supported capability, not a promise of perceptible improvement for every player or setup. GameSir notes that polling test results can vary with configuration and measurement method. GameSir G7 Pro product page · GameSir G7 Pro 8K PC support manual

Tune stick dead zones and curves for the game
There is no evidence-backed universal dead-zone or response-curve preset for every G7 Pro, game, and player. The useful setting depends on the controller’s behavior at rest, the precision you want near the stick’s center, and how the game interprets its own controls. Make one change at a time so you can tell what helped.
- Begin with a low inner dead zone. In Nexus or the game, use a low starting value and check whether the character or camera moves while the stick is untouched.
- Raise it only enough to stop unwanted movement. If the view drifts at rest, increase the inner dead zone in small increments until the unwanted input stops. Avoid raising it further without a reason, because a larger dead zone can reduce fine movement near center.
- Check full travel. Push the stick fully in each direction and confirm the game reaches its maximum input. If it does not, inspect outer-dead-zone or range settings where available.
- Adjust the curve only after the dead zone is settled. A response curve changes how input grows across stick travel. Compare the result in the specific game rather than assuming one curve is best for every genre.
- Check both settings layers. Nexus settings apply through the controller configuration; a game’s own dead-zone control applies within that game. If both are active, change one layer at a time and retest so the combined effect is clear.
For a game such as Call of Duty, treat shared community numbers as anecdotes, not official or universal values. Start from the game’s own controls and make small adjustments based on drift and the amount of fine aim control you can use comfortably. A community discussion of G7 Pro settings for COD reflects player conversation, not a validated preset.

Choose trigger behavior for the game
The G7 Pro combines analog Hall Effect triggers with clicky micro-switch trigger stops. Short travel can suit rapid repeated actions; full analog travel is useful when a game benefits from graduated input, as in racing. Set the two triggers independently if that better fits how a game uses them.
GameSir’s documented shortcut for Hair Trigger Mode is to hold M with LT or RT for two seconds; repeat the combination to toggle the mode off. GameSir G7 Pro FAQ

When to calibrate
Calibration is not a required first step for every owner. If a stick or trigger behaves abnormally, first confirm that you are following the guidance for your exact G7 Pro model, then use the applicable model-specific calibration instructions. The available 8K PC manual is for that edition, so its details should not automatically be applied to the standard tri-mode G7 Pro. GameSir G7 Pro 8K PC support manual
