For a different kind of round, Golf It! leans into user-made courses, Cursed to Golf turns golf into a solo roguelike, and PGA TOUR 2K23 is the simulation choice mainly for people who already own it.

Golf With Your Friends: the safest social pick
The Steam listing describes simultaneous online play for up to 12 players, alongside single-player and online or local multiplayer. Its playful courses, three modes and level editor make it a natural choice for groups who want quick, unconventional rounds rather than a traditional golf simulation. Steam currently labels it Verified for Steam Deck.

Golf It!: choose it for course variety
Golf It! is another multiplayer mini-golf option, distinguished by its course creation and community content. Its Steam listing describes eight official courses, thousands of Workshop courses, a course editor and cross-platform multiplayer; it also lists single-player features. The listing reviewed did not expose a Deck compatibility label, so confirm the current Steam Deck details rather than treating controller support or the game’s genre as proof of compatibility.
Cursed to Golf: a solo roguelike instead of a party game
Cursed to Golf is a single-player golf adventure built around roguelike progression through dungeon-like holes. Hazards and power-up cards alter how you tackle a run, and the Steam listing describes more than 70 holes. It suits someone after a golf-flavored solo challenge, not a conventional multiplayer round. The page reviewed did not show a Deck rating; check the current store page before buying specifically for handheld play.

PGA TOUR 2K23: a simulation with a purchase caveat
For a more conventional licensed golf simulation, PGA TOUR 2K23 is the option in this group. SteamDB records a Playable Deck rating, with caveats for small text, manually invoking the keyboard and needing an active internet connection during first-time setup. The same record says the Steam app was retired from the store at the publisher’s request, making it a less straightforward recommendation for new buyers. Confirm live availability and compatibility before relying on that record.

Valve’s compatibility program assesses controller input, display legibility and resolution, how seamlessly the game works, and support for Proton and middleware. Verified is a compatibility status, not a promise of a particular frame rate, battery life or ideal settings. Playable means a game works with some caveats, which may include interface or setup steps. Valve says ratings apply to both Steam Deck LCD and OLED models, and the review process is ongoing; check a game’s current Steam page for its status.
