For a full golf simulation on Windows, start with PGA TOUR 2K25. Its official feature list combines a career mode, player customization, course creation, ranked and casual multiplayer, local play, and cross-platform multiplayer. EA SPORTS PGA TOUR is the better alternative if you want selectable difficulty styles—from beginner-friendly Arcade to demanding Simulation—and courses such as Augusta National. If you want something relaxed and entirely different from a simulator, Golf Peaks is a single-player card-based puzzle game with more than 120 levels.
This is a feature-based shortlist rather than a hands-on ranking. It covers two officially documented Windows golf simulations and one golf-themed puzzle game; it is not an exhaustive list of every miniature-golf, party, or arcade title available for PC.

Which Windows golf game is best for you?
The right choice depends on whether you want a traditional season-and-swing simulation, adjustable challenge, or a short-form puzzle game. Use this table to narrow the field before checking your PC’s requirements.
| Game | Best fit | What the official information highlights | Windows requirements and caveats |
|---|---|---|---|
| PGA TOUR 2K25 | Players seeking career progression, course creation, and broad multiplayer options | MyCAREER, MyPLAYER customization, Course Designer, ranked and casual multiplayer, local play, and cross-platform multiplayer. 2K’s product page says, “Challenge friends across ranked, casual, and cross-platform multiplayer.” | Windows 10; 8 GB RAM; 30 GB storage; Ryzen 5 1600 or Core i5-6600K-class minimum processor. The 2K store page lists an internet connection and 2K account as requirements. These are minimum specifications, not a promise of a particular frame rate or image quality. |
| EA SPORTS PGA TOUR | Players who want several predefined difficulty styles and EA’s licensed course content | Augusta National is specifically described, and the beginner guide documents Arcade, Pro, Tour, Simulation, and Custom styles. | 64-bit Windows 10; 8 GB RAM; 100 GB storage minimum. EA says cross-play is unavailable, although cross-progression is available; same-platform online play is possible in some modes. |
| Golf Peaks | Players wanting a quiet, golf-themed solo puzzle rather than a golf simulator | Card-based strokes, hazard-solving, a textless tutorial, and more than 120 puzzle levels. | The listing gives 4 GB RAM and 200 MB storage minimum. Steam’s client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024, so check the current client requirement alongside the game’s listed Windows 7 minimum. |
If you only want one recommendation, choose PGA TOUR 2K25 for the broadest simulation feature set in this shortlist. Choose EA SPORTS PGA TOUR when its difficulty controls and Augusta National matter more than cross-platform multiplayer. Choose Golf Peaks when your priority is a lightweight, turn-based puzzle.

What does PGA TOUR 2K25 offer on Windows?
PGA TOUR 2K25 is the most complete fit here for someone searching for a current golf simulator for Windows. 2K lists a February 28, 2025 release date and describes a package built around a persistent career, an editable player, user-created courses, and several ways to play with other people.
Career and player progression
MyCAREER supplies the structured progression expected from a tour-focused game, while MyPLAYER lets you customize the golfer you take through that progression. The official feature description supports recommending it to players who want an ongoing season-style experience rather than isolated rounds.
Course Designer
The Course Designer is a meaningful differentiator. It gives players a way to make and share courses instead of limiting them to the layouts shipped with the game. The existence of the editor is documented; the available assets, publishing rules, and the quality of individual community courses can change and are not evaluated here.
Online, local, and cross-platform play
2K’s product material describes ranked and casual multiplayer, local play, and cross-platform multiplayer. That combination makes it the most flexible choice in this shortlist for a household that wants to play on one PC or join friends on another supported platform. Online modes still depend on the publisher’s account and connectivity requirements.
Windows requirements
The listed minimum configuration is Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM, 30 GB of available storage, and a Ryzen 5 1600 or Intel Core i5-6600K-class processor. The 2K store page also requires an internet connection and a 2K account. A minimum specification tells you the supported floor; it does not establish the resolution, graphics preset, loading times, or frame rate you will receive.
Because the release date is February 28, 2025, check the live store page for later patches, updated drivers, edition differences, and any changed account or connectivity conditions before buying.

How is EA SPORTS PGA TOUR different?
EA SPORTS PGA TOUR is the alternative simulation for players who want to tune the game’s assistance level. EA lists the PC version through the EA app, Epic Games, and Steam, and its official material highlights play at Augusta National. The game released on April 7, 2023.
Four named styles plus Custom
EA’s beginner guide identifies Arcade, Pro, Tour, Simulation, and Custom styles. Arcade is described as a good starting point for beginners, while the named modes let you move toward a more demanding presentation as your confidence grows. Custom settings provide a middle ground when you want to keep one assist but remove another.
These labels are useful for setting expectations, but they are not a universal difficulty scale shared with PGA TOUR 2K25. A player moving between the two games should expect to learn each game’s timing, aids, and rules rather than assuming that “Pro” or “Simulation” means exactly the same thing in both.
Courses and Augusta National
Augusta National is called out in EA’s product information, which makes this version particularly attractive to players whose main reason for buying a golf game is access to that course. The source describes the course’s inclusion; it does not establish that every real-world event, player, or future-season update is represented indefinitely.
Multiplayer and cross-play limits
EA says cross-play is not available. Same-platform online play is possible in some modes, so check the mode-specific rules and the current platform listing if you are arranging a session with friends. EA does provide cross-progression, but that should not be confused with cross-play: progress portability and playing together are separate features.
Windows requirements and storage
EA lists 64-bit Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM, and 100 GB of storage as minimum requirements. The storage figure is substantially higher than PGA TOUR 2K25’s 30 GB and Golf Peaks’ 200 MB, so it should be part of your decision if your Windows drive is nearly full. As with every minimum specification, the published numbers are compatibility guidance rather than a performance guarantee.

Is Golf Peaks a golf simulator?
No. Golf Peaks is a single-player, card-based puzzle game that uses golf vocabulary and hazards as the basis for movement and problem solving. You choose stroke cards to navigate each level, rather than managing a golfer through a realistic round.
Why it suits casual players
The game includes a textless tutorial and more than 120 puzzle levels, according to its Steam listing. That structure makes it approachable if you do not know golf rules or do not want to learn a swing system. The challenge comes from sequencing cards and dealing with hazards, so it appeals to puzzle players as much as to golfers.
Lightweight PC footprint
The listing specifies 4 GB of RAM and 200 MB of storage minimum. Those figures make Golf Peaks the easiest installation to accommodate on an older or storage-constrained Windows PC among these three choices. Steam notes that its client supports Windows 10 and later starting January 1, 2024, while the game listing still shows Windows 7 as a minimum; verify the current Steam client and game requirements together before installation.
There is no multiplayer feature identified in the supplied official information. Treat Golf Peaks as a solo option rather than a substitute for a competitive golf simulator.
How do the Windows requirements compare?
Storage is the clearest practical difference, while all three entries have different minimum memory requirements. The table uses the publishers’ or store listings’ stated floors; it does not predict performance.
| Requirement | PGA TOUR 2K25 | EA SPORTS PGA TOUR | Golf Peaks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 minimum | 64-bit Windows 10 minimum | Listing shows Windows 7 minimum; Steam client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 8 GB RAM | 4 GB RAM |
| Storage | 30 GB | 100 GB | 200 MB |
| Processor | Ryzen 5 1600 or Core i5-6600K class minimum | Not stated in the supplied EA requirements summary | Not stated in the supplied listing summary |
| Account/connectivity note | 2K store page lists an internet connection and 2K account | Check the selected PC storefront and mode requirements | Not stated in the supplied listing summary |
For a quick fit check, confirm your Windows edition, free space, and RAM before purchasing. If the machine has only a small amount of free storage, Golf Peaks is the only one of these three with a published footprint measured in megabytes. If you have enough space for either simulator, the feature and multiplayer differences should decide the purchase instead.

Which game should a beginner start with?
Start with EA SPORTS PGA TOUR’s Arcade style if you want a conventional simulation but prefer the game to provide more assistance at first. Its guide explicitly describes Arcade as suitable for beginners.
If you want to learn a full career game
Choose PGA TOUR 2K25 when progression, player customization, and a long-term MyCAREER structure are more important than a named set of difficulty styles. Begin with the game’s available aids, then adjust them as you learn; the official feature list confirms the career and customization systems but does not publish a universal beginner setup.
If you do not want golf rules or swing practice
Choose Golf Peaks. Its card-based controls, textless tutorial, and puzzle levels let you engage with golf-themed problems without requiring knowledge of tours, clubs, or real-world scoring.
If you are buying for a mixed-experience group
Check the exact multiplayer platform combination first. PGA TOUR 2K25 is the only entry here whose official product material explicitly describes cross-platform multiplayer. EA’s documentation says cross-play is unavailable, so a group spread across platforms should not assume it can join the same session.

What should you check before installing?
A few checks prevent the most common surprises: an incompatible Windows version, insufficient storage, or a multiplayer plan that the game does not support.
- Identify the storefront and edition. EA SPORTS PGA TOUR is offered through the EA app, Epic Games, and Steam. Confirm that the page you are buying from is the Windows edition and that any deluxe or bundled content is the edition you intend to purchase.
- Compare your PC with the listed minimums. Check Windows version, system memory, processor where stated, and free storage. For EA SPORTS PGA TOUR, reserve 100 GB; for PGA TOUR 2K25, reserve 30 GB; for Golf Peaks, the listing gives 200 MB.
- Leave additional working space. The published storage numbers are minimum listing figures. Windows updates, patches, and the storefront may need temporary room, so do not treat the number as a safe target for a drive with only that exact amount free.
- Plan account and internet access. PGA TOUR 2K25’s 2K store requirements include an internet connection and 2K account. For the EA title, review the current EA app or storefront conditions, especially if you intend to use online modes.
- Confirm how friends will connect. PGA TOUR 2K25 lists online, local, ranked, casual, and cross-platform options. EA says cross-play is unavailable and limits same-platform online play to some modes. Arrange the session around those facts rather than assuming every mode supports every platform.
- Recheck the live store page. Availability, patches, system requirements, account rules, and multiplayer support can change after the release information summarized here. Verify the current page immediately before purchase or installation.
How should you choose between simulation realism and convenience?
No independent test or comparative quality statistic is available for these recommendations, so the safest decision is feature-based rather than a claim that one game has objectively better swing physics. Match the documented systems to the way you intend to play.

- Choose Golf Peaks for a solo, low-storage puzzle with more than 120 levels, card-based strokes, and no expectation of realistic golf simulation.
These are not interchangeable versions of the same product. The first two ask you to engage with a golf simulation; Golf Peaks borrows golf’s hazards and terminology for a puzzle format. Deciding which category you actually want will do more to improve your purchase than comparing a single specification.
What are the main limitations of this shortlist?
The coverage is intentionally narrow. It contains two officially documented Windows golf simulations and one officially documented golf puzzle game, but it does not establish a complete market ranking or cover every party, miniature-golf, or arcade-style release.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Finally, store availability and requirements are time-sensitive. A current publisher or storefront page should take precedence over an older listing if the two differ.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I play PGA TOUR 2K25 without creating a 2K account?
The 2K store page lists both an internet connection and a 2K account as requirements. Plan on creating or using that account when installing the Windows version, even if you primarily intend to play solo.
Does cross-progression in EA SPORTS PGA TOUR let friends on different platforms play together?
No. EA distinguishes cross-progression from cross-play: progress can carry across supported platforms, but EA says cross-play is unavailable. Friends should be on the same supported platform for modes that offer online play.

Golf Peaks has the smallest published footprint at 200 MB. PGA TOUR 2K25 lists 30 GB, while EA SPORTS PGA TOUR lists 100 GB, so storage can decide the purchase on a compact Windows drive.
Is Golf Peaks suitable if I do not know anything about golf?
Yes. Its Steam description identifies a textless tutorial and card-based puzzles, so the game teaches its own interactions instead of requiring knowledge of clubs, tours, or scoring. It is a solo puzzle experience, not a realistic golf lesson.
