Modern Warfare 4 is a current, released military multiplayer game rather than a future rumor. Counter-Strike 2 is not a Modern Warfare clone: its competitive identity comes from tight round structure, economy decisions and site objectives. Valve also sells Prime Status separately, so “free to play” does not mean every account has identical competitive-access terms. Check the current Steam listing before purchasing Prime, because entitlements and pricing can change.
VALORANT

Which fast objective or arena shooter is worth choosing?
THE FINALS
THE FINALS is the most distinct choice: free objective matches built around moving arenas and destruction. Embark lists Cashout, Ranked Leagues and Team Deathmatch, while its current site makes arena destruction a defining feature. (THE FINALS)
Cashout’s moving objectives make positioning and timing more important than simply holding a static military lane. Destruction can open or close routes, so the match state changes in ways a conventional shooter does not reproduce. Battlefield REDSEC
REDSEC is the closest free military-themed battle-royale route for someone who does not want to buy the full Battlefield 6 package. REDSEC Ranked uses four-player squads and requires at least Career Rank 5. EA’s guide describes 25 four-player squads in a Ranked match; that is a match-format figure, not a claim about the size of the active player base. REDSEC is a separate free experience, so installing it does not grant free access to every Battlefield 6 multiplayer playlist.
Choose REDSEC for military presentation, squads and a documented ranked battle-royale path. Choose Apex when hero abilities and its established battle-royale structure are more appealing than military framing.
How do free access and ranked eligibility differ?
Free installation and competitive access are separate questions.
