For Switch players choosing among 2024 adventure releases, three games stand out for different kinds of play: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for exploration and inventive puzzles, Princess Peach: Showtime! for theatrical transformations, and Mario & Luigi: Brothership for island-hopping with RPG progression. “Best” here is an experience-based guide, not a claim of an objective ranking: Nintendo’s official pages establish these games’ features and release dates, but do not establish comparative review scores or audience consensus.

Best for exploration and creative puzzles: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
In Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda explores Hyrule, solves puzzles, and battles foes. Its defining mechanic lets her create “echoes”—imitations of objects and creatures she encounters—and use them in the world. Nintendo’s examples include making water blocks to reach high places and arranging beds as bridges, giving players different ways to approach obstacles rather than relying on one fixed solution.
Choose it if the appeal of an adventure is roaming a fantasy land and experimenting with the things you find. Nintendo announced a September 26, 2024 Switch release, and its product page lists a physical edition. The page specifies single-system play and handheld, tabletop, and TV modes.

Best for theatrical transformations: Princess Peach: Showtime!
Princess Peach: Showtime! sends Peach to rescue the Sparkle Theater from Grape and the Sour Bunch. Stella helps Peach transform into different stage roles, each with its own abilities. That changing-role setup makes this the pick for players who want a theatrical premise and a sequence of distinct action scenarios.
Nintendo lists March 22, 2024 as the Switch release date and offers a physical edition. Its product details identify single-system play and handheld, tabletop, and TV modes. Nintendo also offers a free demo featuring two plays and two transformations.

Best for an island-hopping RPG adventure: Mario & Luigi: Brothership
Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a new entry in Nintendo’s Mario & Luigi RPG adventure series. Mario and Luigi sail aboard Shipshape Island as they explore Concordia, whose islands range from tropical rainforests to bustling cities. It is the strongest fit of these three for players who want exploration framed by role-playing mechanics.
Nintendo lists November 7, 2024 as the Switch release date. The product page specifies single-system play, with TV, tabletop, and handheld modes. Nintendo presents the title as an RPG; “RPG adventure” describes its series and premise without implying that the store categorizes it under an Adventure tag.

What “best” means in this guide
Nintendo describes adventure games broadly as journeys through settings such as magical realms, historical places, or unexplored territories, often involving action and puzzle-solving. The three recommendations above apply that broad idea to different play styles. They are not a scored ranking: the official descriptions establish what each game offers, but do not demonstrate that one is objectively better, more popular, easier, or longer than another.
For a broader look at 2024 releases, Nintendo’s Switch game catalog also lists Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (June 27), Another Code: Recollection (January 19), Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club (August 29), Mario vs. Donkey Kong (February 16), and Endless Ocean Luminous (May 2). Those catalog entries confirm availability and dates, but aren’t enough on their own to compare gameplay or support a specific “best for” recommendation.
