Best Sambuk Fire Build in Skull and Bones: Perks, Weapons and Furniture

Use Ubisoft’s Pyrocast Sambuk preset as a damage baseline, then tune fire weapons, furniture, and seasonal mastery to your activity.

The Sambuk’s fire-focused build revolves around applying Ablaze, spreading it to nearby ships, and dealing follow-up damage before the status expires. Ubisoft’s Pyrocast preset is a documented damage-oriented starting point, but it is not a verified best-in-slot setup for every activity or the current endgame. Use its loadout as a baseline, then compare alternatives in the live game.

Why the Sambuk works as a fire ship

Ubisoft describes the Sambuk as advantaged when using fire weapons. Its published perks reward both applying Ablaze and attacking ships already burning. Ubisoft’s DevBlog describes ships as customizable frames: “Each ship works as a frame which you can customise with furniture, weapons, and attachments.” Ubisoft’s ship-customization overview explains the underlying idea.

Scorched: spread and capitalize on Ablaze

In Ubisoft’s Y2S1 patch notes, Scorched deals 5,000 burning damage when you apply Ablaze, applies Ablaze to enemy ships within 150m, and increases damage to ships already Ablaze by 30%. Those effects make spreading the status and concentrating follow-up attacks on burning targets central to the build. These are published game values; check the ship’s current in-game perk text after patches. Ubisoft Y2S1 Patch Notes

Firebug: more damage in a shorter window

Firebug makes Ablaze deal 100% more damage but last for 50% of its duration, and reduces fire-weapon reload time by 12%, according to the same Y2S1 notes. The shorter status window makes timing and sustained weapon output relevant: the damage increase does not mean you can ignore how quickly you reapply fire.

Ubisoft’s Pyrocast preset: a complete starting loadout

Ubisoft published Pyrocast as a Sambuk damage preset in its Death Tides materials. The following table reproduces its listed equipment; it is a named baseline rather than proof that every item remains optimal for all content.

Y3S2 alternatives to evaluate

Ubisoft’s August 17, 2026 Y3S2 patch notes describe additional gear with Burning, Ablaze, Shell-shocked, or Explosive interactions. They are options to assess against Pyrocast, not a developer-prescribed Sambuk best-in-slot build.

Scorch Song

Scorch Song is an Epic Burning Explosive Culverin. It triggers an explosion when its target is Ablaze or Shell-shocked, and its listed Ignition effect adds an escalating Explosive damage bonus on consecutive shots, subject to a cooldown. Consider whether that mix of status-dependent explosions and consecutive-shot damage fits the targets and firing opportunities in your activity.

Hellshot Smithy

Hellshot Smithy is Epic major furniture. It applies Charred after a sufficiently large single Burning hit; Charred targets take more Burning damage, and Ablaze or Charred can spread the status to nearby targets.

Infernal Artificer’s Bench

Infernal Artificer’s Bench is Epic major furniture that converts part of Explosive damage against Shell-shocked targets into Burning damage, and part of Burning damage against Ablaze targets into Explosive damage. Both it and Hellshot Smithy occupy the major-furniture slot, so they are alternatives to test rather than items to combine in one loadout.

Skull and Bones - Special Edition /PS5
  • Grow your infamy to gain access to more resources and opportunities as you take on riskier contracts to gain the most loot.
  • Craft up to 12 ships and customize them with a variety of weapons and armor to maximize your chances for success.
  • Be wary in this untamed open world inspired by the Indian Ocean. There are predators lurking around every corner.
  • Choose how you want to take on the seas. Sail solo or team up with two friends to watch your back in either PvE or PvEvP.
  • Ablaze application and spread: How reliably does the loadout start the status and reach nearby targets?
  • Damage during the status window: Can you make effective follow-up attacks while targets are Ablaze, especially given Firebug’s shorter duration?
  • Reload cadence and sustained output: Does the weapon combination keep pressure on targets between applications?
  • Area versus single-target damage: Does the activity reward spreading effects among groups or focusing damage on one target?
  • Survivability: Adjust armor or other choices if incoming damage is preventing you from maintaining your attack.
  • Mastery and modifications: Account for the seasonal nodes and equipment modifications actually available to your character.

Check seasonal mastery and verify equipment in-game

Year 3 introduced a Seasonal Mastery Tree with more than 500 nodes. Seasonal perks unlock at mastery levels 10, 30, and 60, and seasonal mastery and perks reset each season. Y3S2 added the ability to save multiple mastery allocations and a Ship Details screen that brings ship, weapon, armor, furniture, and mastery statistics together. Ubisoft’s May 12, 2026 overview covers the mastery system; the Y3S2 notes describe the saved allocations and Ship Details screen.

Because mastery resets and the cited notes do not prescribe an optimal Sambuk allocation, compare seasonal nodes for your activity and review their contributions in Ship Details. The published preset names its components but does not establish current acquisition routes for each one; check each item’s source in the live game rather than relying on an assumed vendor, drop, or unlock method.
