There is no single enchantment that every weapon in Oblivion Remastered should carry. Pick one for the job: elemental damage to hurt a target, Absorb Health to help you survive, Paralysis to control an enemy, or Silence to disrupt a spellcaster. These are situational options, not an official ranking.
Which weapon enchantment fits your playstyle?
Bethesda explains that enchantments add effects to existing items and that an item’s tooltip shows its effect. Its general enchantment page is not a complete Remastered-specific weapon guide, so the tactical recommendations below come from a secondary guide to the remaster.

| Combat role | Effect to consider | Why choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Damage | Elemental damage | The guide presents elemental damage as an offensive option, with the useful element depending on the enemy. It does not establish one element as universally strongest. |
| Sustain | Absorb Health | The guide describes it as damaging a target while restoring the wielder’s health. |
| Control | Paralysis | The guide recommends it for immobilizing enemies and creating an opening. |
| Anti-caster utility | Silence | The guide discusses it as an option for disrupting spellcasters. |
| Hybrid-caster support | Magicka-related effects | The guide includes magicka effects as a possible fit for characters who combine weapon use with spellcasting; it does not specify a single effect as best. |
Use the table as a decision aid, not a tier list: the right effect depends on your build and the encounter. Bethesda’s enchantment support page confirms that enchanted-item effects can be checked in the tooltip.

How to choose for a fight
Choose elemental damage when you want offense
If your priority is hurting an opponent, consider an elemental enchantment. The Remastered-specific guide gives situational enemy examples, but neither it nor the official pages consulted establish a universal elemental winner. Match the effect to the target rather than assuming one element is best everywhere.

Choose Absorb Health when survival matters
Absorb Health combines damage with recovery for the wielder, according to the secondary guide. It is a practical candidate when staying alive is more important than specializing in a single kind of target damage.
Choose Paralysis when you need control
The guide recommends Paralysis for immobilizing enemies. Consider it when interrupting an opponent’s ability to pressure you is more valuable than adding another damage effect.
Choose Silence to disrupt spellcasters
Silence is the guide’s anti-caster option. Treat it as a matchup choice rather than a default enchantment for every weapon.

Consider magicka utility for a hybrid character
The guide also discusses magicka-related effects for characters who use both weapons and spells. The available evidence does not establish exact values or which magicka effect is optimal, so compare the effects shown in your game’s item tooltips instead of relying on an assumed numerical recipe.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Should you carry more than one enchanted weapon?
The Remastered-specific guide suggests considering different weapons for different situations. That is an option, not a required loadout: you can choose a general-purpose effect or carry alternatives when you want to switch between damage, sustain, control, and anti-caster utility.
Do not rely on unverified charge counts, stacking rules, durations, or damage rankings to make that choice. Exact Remastered-specific figures and stacking behavior are not established by the official pages cited here. Check the weapon tooltip in-game to see the effect applied to that item.

What enchantment utility does Bethesda document?
Bethesda separately notes that Feather or Fortify Strength spells or enchantments can temporarily raise maximum encumbrance in its beginner tips. That can be useful equipment support, but it is not evidence that either effect is a best-in-slot weapon enchantment.
For general context, Bethesda’s enchantment support information describes effects added to existing items and points players to item tooltips. It does not provide a complete Remastered-specific manual for creating weapon enchantments, nor does it rank the effects discussed above.
