• Below 30 FPS: likely unsuitable without major compromises. Try lowering ray tracing, resolution, and quality, then enable an upscaler.
• 30–45 FPS: potentially playable for some users, but likely to require reduced settings or a lower resolution.
• Around 60 FPS: a reasonable target for many players, provided frame pacing is stable and the result matches your actual resolution and settings.
• Above 60 FPS: useful for high-refresh monitors, but check whether the figure is rendered or generated and whether demanding scenes produce stutter.

Ray tracing is the real hardware separator

Upscaling and frame generation are not the same

Native rendering draws the image at the selected output resolution and usually costs the most GPU performance. Upscaling renders internally at a lower resolution and reconstructs the output using DLSS, FSR, or XeSS. Laptop, storage, and platform caveats

Laptops

A laptop GPU with the same model number as a desktop card may perform very differently. Wattage limits, cooling, CPU power limits, MUX or Optimus behavior, battery operation, and sustained thermal throttling all matter. Do not upgrade solely because the benchmark shows a low number at maximum settings. First test your real target:

• Lower ray tracing or disable it.
• Use a quality upscaling mode.
• Reduce resolution or the most expensive quality settings.
• Disable frame generation while establishing a stable rendered baseline.
• Check whether the issue is sustained thermal throttling, insufficient memory, or a laptop power limit.
