Blood Frontier was a beta-era first-person shooter for single-player and multiplayer, built as a total conversion of Cube Engine 2, also known as Sauerbraten. It is no longer in development: SourceForge labels the project discontinued. Archived Beta 2 files are listed for Windows, macOS, and Linux, but the archive does not establish whether they work on current systems.
What was Blood Frontier?
SourceForge describes Blood Frontier as a single-player and multiplayer FPS built as a total conversion of Cube Engine 2, the engine also known as Sauerbraten. A total conversion uses an existing game engine as the foundation for a substantially different game project.

A FreeBSD port description characterizes its gameplay as tactical and low gravity, with map makers having broad control over how maps played. That is a high-level description, not a complete account of its mechanics or content; the available records do not establish a full weapon roster, campaign structure, or map list.
Is Blood Frontier still being developed?
No. SourceForge marks the project as beta and discontinued, and its listing reports a last update of 2013-04-18. Blood Frontier should be understood as a legacy project, not a maintained current release.

How is Blood Frontier related to Red Eclipse?
Historical project-termination coverage on ModDB reports that a former Blood Frontier lead developer forked the game into Red Eclipse as a continuation after a split. This gives Red Eclipse a reported lineage connection to Blood Frontier, but does not mean the games are identical or that Blood Frontier content, saves, or compatibility carry over.

The available project records establish Blood Frontier’s discontinued status and archived desktop files. They do not establish a current maintained Blood Frontier release, current multiplayer servers, or active community. The cited historical account describes Red Eclipse’s origin, but is not by itself a current status or compatibility record for either game.
