Find Frank the Furnace, Hank the Welder, and Sal the Engineer at The Pitted Stain Ripper Drill Site in Idolator’s Noose, in the Fadefields. Clear the Ripper waves to spawn the trio; after defeating them, use Moxxi’s Big Encore machine at the entrance to repeat the fight. Their notable loot includes Chaumurky, Chuck, and Bloody Lumberjack, but none is guaranteed on a run.
Where to find the Foundry Freaks
Travel to The Pitted Stain Ripper Drill Site in Idolator’s Noose, in the Fadefields. The Epic Games Store guide places the site on the southern side of the map. The Foundry Freaks do not appear immediately: clear the Ripper camp’s waves to bring out Frank the Furnace, Hank the Welder, and Sal the Engineer.

How to farm the encounter
- Go to The Pitted Stain Ripper Drill Site in Idolator’s Noose.
- Clear the Ripper enemies and waves until Frank, Hank, and Sal spawn.
- Defeat the trio and collect the drops.
- Use Moxxi’s Big Encore machine outside the camp to restart the encounter. PlayBorderlands recommends collecting the loot and selling unwanted gear before repeating.
The route includes prerequisite waves as well as the three-boss fight, so it offers general loot opportunities along the way. The reviewed guides do not establish a current, independently measured run time, so there is no supported basis for calling it the fastest farm.

The Epic Games Store guide and Mobalytics both list these three as notable Foundry Freaks loot. Borderlands Support’s January 15, 2026 Minor Update Notes say the Phosphene variant of the Daedalus Legendary Assault Rifle Bloody Lumberjack was added to the Foundry Freaks loot pool. The notes also state: “A permanent increase to Legendary drop rate chance has been added.” They do not give the new percentage.

How to handle the trio
Mobalytics’ guide, updated October 25, 2025, describes each boss as having an armor health bar followed by a flesh health bar. It recommends Corrosive or Cryo damage against armor and Incendiary damage against flesh. The same guide suggests keeping distance, kiting, and focusing on one boss at a time; treat these as guide advice rather than official developer instructions.
PlayBorderlands recommends splash damage to hit multiple bosses and using a corrosive weapon against their armor. It estimates that a relatively high-level clear can generate around $1,000,000 or more from junk sales. That is the guide’s estimate, not a guaranteed yield: character level and the value of the loot affect the sale total.

What is known about drop rates
Official update notes confirm a permanent increase to Legendary drop-rate chance but do not publish a current numerical rate for the Foundry Freaks’ dedicated items. Lootlemon is a fan-maintained project whose table reports per-boss assignments and rates affected by UVH and Big Encore status; those figures are not official drop rates. Because no official current percentages are established here, plan for repeated attempts rather than expecting a particular item on every clear.
The January 15, 2026 update also identified the Foundry Freaks as that week’s Weekly Big Encore Boss. That dated notice does not establish their current weekly-event status.
