Did the Borderlands 4 release date change?
Yes. 2K’s February 12, 2025 announcement set the worldwide launch for September 23, 2025 (2K’s original announcement). On June 16, 2K listed September 12, 2025 as the worldwide release date in its pre-order announcement. Comparing those dates, the launch moved up by 11 calendar days.
2K’s sources establish the change but do not give a reason for it. They do not support attributing it to development progress, another game’s schedule, or any other specific cause.
When and where did Borderlands 4 launch?
2K’s September 12, 2025 launch announcement confirmed that the game was available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The official game page also lists September 12, 2025 as its release date on those platforms.
