When did Borderlands 4 come out?
2K confirmed worldwide availability on September 12, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The date changed during development: the August 20, 2024 announcement gave a 2025 window; a February 2025 announcement set September 23, 2025; and an April 30 gameplay update moved the date to September 12. The original August 2024 announcement named PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store for the 2025 launch. 2K later confirmed the worldwide launch on those platforms.
What is the current Switch 2 date?
2K announced an October 3, 2025 release for Switch 2 on July 31, 2025. However, Take-Two’s later fiscal second-quarter 2026 schedule lists Borderlands 4 for Switch 2 as TBA. The available official information therefore does not establish a current Switch 2 release date or confirm availability; do not treat October 3 as a confirmed current date. The schedule is a dated snapshot, not proof that no later update exists. 2K’s Switch 2 announcement and Take-Two’s fiscal second-quarter 2026 schedule show the two entries.

2K describes Borderlands 4 as a looter-shooter set on the planet Kairos, featuring four new Vault Hunters and solo or co-op play. Those are publisher descriptions of the game, not independent assessments. Its preorder announcement also names the Standard, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe editions.

In its June 16, 2025 preorder announcement, 2K listed the Standard Edition at $69.99 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. That is the price stated at announcement time, not a current quote; check the relevant platform store for current pricing and edition availability. The announcement also said copies purchased on Steam or the Epic Games Store could be played through NVIDIA GeForce NOW. Check current service compatibility before relying on that option.
