The November 20, 2025 Borderlands 4 update made two separate loot-related changes: Class Mods were adjusted to drop more often for the character you are playing, and a new combat-radar indicator helps you spot high-rarity drops. The first changes which character is favored by Class Mod drops; the second helps identify loot. The notes give no drop-rate figures and do not say the indicator improves drop odds.
What changed in the November 20 update?
The official November 20, 2025 major update notes describe two loot-facing changes with different purposes.

How does the Class Mod change work?
The notes say, “Class Mods have been adjusted to drop more for your current character.” In practical terms, the adjustment favors the character you are currently playing when Class Mods drop. Gear drops can therefore be more relevant to that character, rather than being described as evenly targeted across characters.
Gearbox does not publish a percentage, a before-and-after rate, or a formula for this adjustment in the notes. The wording also does not establish that every Class Mod drop will match your character; it describes a change in what drops more often, not a guarantee.

What does the Legendary Loot Indicator do?
The official notes say, “Added a new Legendary Loot Indicator to the combat radar for easier identification of high-rarity drops.” Its stated role is to help you notice high-rarity loot using the combat radar. It is an identification aid, not a loot-generating mechanic: the notes do not claim it creates drops, guarantees a Legendary item, or increases rarity odds.
Other quality-of-life changes in the update
The November update also addressed inventory and localization details. Its change list includes restored Lost Loot filters and sorting controls, retaining the selected sort option after leaving and returning, and improved item-rarity displays in non-English languages. These interface changes are separate from the Class Mod adjustment and radar indicator.

How this differs from later loot updates
Subsequent patch notes describe other loot mechanics; they should not be read as part of the November Class Mod or radar changes.
- January 15, 2026 minor update notes report a permanent increase to the chance of dedicated boss drops.
- January 29, 2026 major update notes say that higher Ultimate Vault Hunter levels increase the chance of dedicated loot dropping.
- Version 1.6 notes, published April 29, 2026, describe more consistent rolls for specified Pearlescent gear along with further interface changes.
These later notes concern dedicated-drop chances, Ultimate Vault Hunter progression, and Pearlescent gear. They are distinct from the November update’s current-character Class Mod targeting and radar-based identification. The cited patch history does not establish whether later patches changed these mechanics after April 30, 2026.
