Fix Brawlhalla crashes in this order
Try one step at a time and launch the game again after each change. That makes it easier to identify what helped and avoids unnecessary changes to your PC.
1. Restart Steam and your PC
Exit Steam, restart the computer, then open Steam and launch Brawlhalla. A restart can clear temporary program states or file locks. Steam recommends restarting the client and computer as an initial launch-failure check in its launch troubleshooting guidance.
2. Update Windows and graphics drivers
Install available Windows updates and check for graphics-driver updates using the update method provided for your PC or graphics hardware. Steam includes Windows and driver updates among its general recommendations for games that will not launch. The right driver depends on your hardware, so avoid installing a driver meant for a different graphics device.

3. Verify Brawlhalla’s installed files in Steam
- In Steam, open your Library and right-click Brawlhalla.
- Select Properties, then open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files and let the check finish. The exact wording may vary as Steam updates its client.
- When verification is complete, launch the game again.
Steam says launch problems can result from corrupted extracted files; verification checks the installation and can reacquire missing or altered files. See Steam’s troubleshooting steps.
4. Temporarily close nonessential background software
Close overlays and other nonessential utilities, then test the game. If the crash stops, reopen programs one at a time and test again to find whether one changes the behavior. Treat this as a temporary diagnostic check, not a permanent instruction to disable security software. Steam recommends ruling out software conflicts, but its general guidance does not identify a Brawlhalla-specific list of conflicting programs.

5. Check your PC against the current requirements
Steam’s Brawlhalla listing gives these Windows memory and storage figures:

These are the values shown on Steam’s Brawlhalla support listing and store page; check those pages for current figures before relying on them. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee reliable operation. Steam notes that a PC at or near minimum specifications may have launch or performance problems.

What if the crash happens only at a particular moment?
A crash linked to one action, mode, or recent update may be a game bug rather than a sign that your PC needs an upgrade. Check the latest official Brawlhalla patch notes for reports of similar issues.
For example, the development team’s Patch 9.08 notes described three rare crash issues and said a hotfix was incoming. The listed triggers were respawning in Catch Bombs, joining multiple lobby types, and entering challenge mode with a companion equipped. That is historical, patch-specific information—not confirmation that those problems are still present. Use the current notes to check what is known now.

When to contact Brawlhalla support
If restarting, updates, file verification, and the background-software check do not resolve the crash, contact the official support address listed on Steam: [email protected]. Include useful diagnostic details such as when the crash occurs, any exact error text, recent changes to the PC or game, your Windows version, and basic PC specifications. These details can help explain the problem; they are practical reporting suggestions, not a published submission checklist.
Brawlhalla is free to play on PC, with desktop availability through Steam, Ubisoft Connect, and the Epic Games Store. The steps above specifically describe Steam’s file-verification controls; use the relevant launcher’s support options if you installed the game elsewhere.
