Spoilers for the full Emergence mission: To reach the final Biotechnology fight, collect four Director Keycards from Advanced Combat Research, Administration, Cognitive Research, and Joint Projects, then insert them into the Main Console in the central lobby. The ACR cipher is ACCESS LIFT; the Cognitive Research keypad code is 7072, and its three drain switches must be activated within 25 seconds. The safe and Collect Calls challenge are optional.
How do you enter the facility and get the map?
- Move forward from the starting area to the elevator shaft and descend.
- Leave the water and cross the mannequin room. Near the ledge, find the axe embedded in a mannequin and use it to pry open the blocked door.
- Continue to the lobby and approach the upper doors. After the encounter triggered by the triangular door, answer the reception phone and pick up the Facility Map.
The map helps orient you as you search the building for the four Director Keycards required to open the route to Biotechnology.

How do you solve the ACR cipher and get the first keycard?
Go to the Advanced Combat Research wing and interact with its computer. Enter ACCESS LIFT to lower the room. This cipher solution is also described by Game8’s Emergence walkthrough, which explains that the computer puzzle pairs numbers with letters.
- Fight through the enemies in the lowered area and collect the grappling hook.
- Use the grappling hook where prompted, then survive the creature and enemy waves.
- When the encounter is complete, take the ACR Director Keycard.
How do you get the Administration keycard?
Use the grappling hook to reach Administration. Find the red mannequin holding a keycard, then locate all four Director’s Folders before placing them in the trays outside the director’s room.

After submitting the folders, pursue and defeat the director. Take the Director Keycard after the fight.
What is the Cognitive Research keypad code?
The keypad code is 7072. Enter it to unlock the room containing one of the drain switches before starting the timed sequence; otherwise, you will need to stop and unlock the door during the run.
- Use the Cognitive Research computer to open the Bathysphere route and cross the pool to the drainage office.
- Unlock the drain switches and enter 7072 on the locked-room keypad.
- Activate the three switches—one in the office, one inside the unlocked room, and one on a ledge across the water—within the guide-reported 25-second window.
- Return to the pool area, defeat the director, and collect the keycard.

How do you get the Joint Projects keycard?
Grapple into Joint Projects and head to the back of the research area. Take the camera at the marked glass container; it is also the keycard and triggers the director encounter.
The creature can disappear during the fight. Track it by its shriek and movement in the environment, then attack when it becomes visible. Take the keycard after defeating it.
How do you unlock Biotechnology and finish Emergence?
- Return to the central lobby with all four Director Keycards.
- Insert all four into the Main Console to unlock the elevator to Biotechnology.
- Ride the elevator and answer the phone.
- During the Executive Director encounter, use grappling points to escape danger, thin out the zombie horde, and prioritize empowered zombies marked with red health bars.
- Defeat the Executive Director to complete the mission.
Where is the Emergence safe, and how do you open it?
The safe is an optional detour in the Cognitive Research red sector, in the locker-room area off the hallway by the vending machine. You do not need it to finish Emergence. PC Gamer’s safe guide describes the nearby radio puzzle:

- Find the radio near the safe and tune its frequency and amplitude until the waveform matches the signal.
- Listen to the repeating numbers broadcast by the radio.
- Enter those numbers into the safe.
How do you complete the Collect Calls challenge?
Answer every phone in the Advanced Technologies and Applications building. Game8 reports five phones for the challenge; answer each one you encounter as you move through the facility rather than leaving an area assuming the call is irrelevant. This challenge is separate from collecting the four required keycards.
What are the Emergence completion reward and achievement?
Game8 lists the Allied Effort Sticker as the mission completion reward and Head Games for completing Emergence in the campaign on any difficulty. Activision’s campaign support page says, “You can change the game’s difficulty at any time,” and lists Recruit, Regular, Hardened, and Veteran: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Campaign support.
