Update: Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is no longer playable. It launched worldwide on March 21, 2024, was removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play in May 2025, and its servers shut down on April 17, 2026. Operation: Day Zero cannot be played or its rewards redeemed today. Activision’s service notice has the current status.
What was Warzone Mobile?
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was Activision’s free-to-play mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone for iOS and Android. It combined Battle Royale matches on Verdansk and Rebirth Island with Multiplayer playlists and connected progression across Warzone Mobile, Warzone, and Modern Warfare III.

The game launched worldwide on March 21, 2024. Its launch event, Operation: Day Zero, began the following day, on March 22, 2024. Activision described the title as supporting shared progression and many shared weapons, Operators, and Store Bundles, although some content remained title-specific or subject to platform and game restrictions.

Operation: Day Zero was a limited-time launch event built around six contested zones: five on Verdansk and one covering Rebirth Island. Players earned individual Event Points while contributing to community progress. As the community cleared zones, new milestones and rewards became available.

Event actions counted only while players were inside the relevant active Day Zero zone. Players could earn points by:
- Opening standard Supply Boxes or Day Zero Supply Drops
- Eliminating enemy players
- Completing Contracts
- Using Killstreaks
- Scoring headshots
- Buying items at Buy Stations
- Eliminating enemies in Multiplayer warm-ups or matches
Multiplayer eliminations awarded Event Points at a lower rate than Battle Royale eliminations. Day Zero Supply Drops were especially valuable: they offered better loot, cash, experience points, and more Event Points, with a radar indicator showing their location.

These were the event’s six official community rewards. They unlocked as the corresponding zones were collectively cleared; they were not all immediately available to every player.

Depending on the item, rewards were designed to work across Warzone Mobile, Warzone, and Modern Warfare III where supported. That did not mean every item transferred universally between every title.
How players downloaded it at launch
During the March 2024 worldwide release, players could:
- Open the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Search for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
- Download the worldwide-release app.
- Launch the game and sign in.
Activision specifically told players using the earlier limited-release iOS build to download the worldwide-release version from the App Store. Signing in with the correct Activision or Call of Duty account was necessary for connected progression and linked content.

Those instructions are now historical. The game was removed from both stores in May 2025, and keeping an old installation or attempting to sideload it cannot restore access after the server shutdown.
Free-to-play model and connected purchases
Warzone Mobile launched as a free-to-play game with optional purchases such as COD Points, bundles, Battle Pass products, and BlackCell. Real-money purchases ended before the service closed. Activision stated that unused COD Points became inaccessible after shutdown and that refunds were not available for previously purchased content or unused COD Points.
Shared progression allowed eligible progress and connected content to move between the three Call of Duty titles, but exclusions applied. Players should not interpret “shared progression” as a promise that every purchase, cosmetic, blueprint, or bundle worked everywhere.

What happened to Warzone Mobile?
Activision ended new seasonal content and real-money purchases before removing the game from mobile storefronts in May 2025. The servers went offline on April 17, 2026. In its service notice, Activision said the game did not meet expectations among mobile-first players.
There is no current download, offline mode, event replay, or legitimate purchase that provides access to Warzone Mobile. The title should therefore be treated as a closed launch-era chapter rather than a live mobile game.
What can mobile players play instead?
Activision identifies Call of Duty: Mobile as its mobile alternative. It is a separate free-to-play game—not a continuation of Warzone Mobile—with Battle Royale, Multiplayer, Zombies, Ranked Play, events, seasonal content, and a Battle Pass. Activision’s notice also points players toward Call of Duty: Warzone on PC and consoles.
