No—not in any reliable or guaranteed sense. A jailbroken or otherwise modified Nintendo Switch 2 may appear to connect under some circumstances, but Nintendo’s current Switch 2 User Agreement prohibits bypassing or modifying the console’s protections. Nintendo also documents console-level restrictions for breaches of its user agreements. That means online play can be lost, the console or software can suffer severe functionality consequences, and unauthorized hardware damage may fall outside warranty coverage. If dependable online play, Nintendo Switch Online, eShop access, and official support matter to you, the safe choice is an unmodified console running official software.
What does “playing online safely” mean on a jailbroken Switch 2?

The agreement gives Nintendo broad remedies. It states that Nintendo may render the console and/or software “permanently unusable in whole or in part” when the restrictions are violated. That is a contractual warning, not evidence that Nintendo applies the harshest consequence in every case. It does mean that a user accepting the risk cannot treat online access as supported or guaranteed.

This is important because the documented remedy is console-level. The source does not say that enforcement is always limited to an account, that every ban is permanent, or that every modified console receives the same treatment. It does establish that losing online access is a real, officially documented outcome, not merely a theoretical concern.
If you see error 2124-4517, do not assume that changing accounts, resetting the console, or repeatedly attempting to connect will restore service. Does using a separate Nintendo Account protect a hacked Switch 2?

That warning matters even if your intention is only to run homebrew: Nintendo’s policy focuses on unauthorized circumvention products and modifications, not on whether a particular owner believes the use is harmless.
Possible costs are broader than a lost online match. Accordingly, “I never played a pirated game” is not an official safe-harbor rule. It may describe a user’s intent, but it does not change the agreement’s language or guarantee that Nintendo will permit the modified console to use online services.
What can Nintendo Switch Online subscribers still use?
Nintendo identifies Nintendo Accounts as the route to Nintendo Switch Online membership services and online play on Switch 2 and Switch.
