No—not for Roblox phone verification. Roblox allows a phone number to be used with only one account. You can have multiple Roblox accounts, but the same number cannot be attached as the verified phone number to two of them at once.
Can two Roblox accounts use the same phone number?
No. Roblox allows a phone number to be used with only one Roblox account for phone verification. You can own or use multiple Roblox accounts, but that does not allow the same number to be attached as the verified phone number on two accounts at the same time.

This is an account-verification restriction, not a rule that prevents someone from having multiple Roblox accounts. If your number is already linked to an old account, you generally need to remove it from that account before adding it to another one.

- Sign in to the Roblox account holding the phone number.
- Open Settings.
- Select Account Info.
- Choose Update Phone.
- Select Edit Phone or Remove Phone Number, depending on the option shown.
- After the number has been removed or changed, sign in to the intended account and try adding and verifying the number.
Roblox may still apply its current verification checks. The number must be able to receive text messages, and Roblox’s phone-number management documentation says this feature is for players aged 13 or older.
What if you cannot access the old account?
Try Roblox’s built-in account recovery before attempting to add the number elsewhere:
- Go to the Roblox login screen.
- Select Forgot Password or Username?
- Choose the Phone tab.
- Enter the country code and phone number.
- Continue with the instructions Roblox sends to that number.
Roblox documents phone recovery for an account that has a phone number but no attached email address. Once you regain access, use Settings > Account Info > Update Phone to remove or change the number.

Do not use temporary SMS services, another person’s number, or unofficial tools to get around the restriction. Those approaches can create additional recovery and account-ownership problems.
Why does Roblox limit one phone number to one account?
Roblox treats a phone number as an account-security and access credential. Depending on the account and feature, it can be used for:
- Password recovery.
- Some login or account-verification functions.
- Account-security or two-step-verification recovery.
- Optional friend discovery from phone contacts where that feature is available and the user has given consent.
Because the number can help identify or recover an account, Roblox does not treat it as a general family contact detail that can simply be copied across accounts. The optional contact-discovery feature is separate from phone verification and does not create an exception to the one-account rule.
Does having multiple Roblox accounts change the rule?
No. Multiple accounts and phone-number reuse are separate issues. Roblox’s recovery materials recognize that a person may have more than one account, while its Terms of Use refer to alternate accounts and reserve the right to take action against accounts associated with a user when enforcing its rules.
In particular, a second account should not be used to evade a suspension, moderation action, or another Roblox restriction. Creating or using an alternate account does not provide a policy exception for phone verification and may expose associated accounts to enforcement.
Can a passkey or backup code let two accounts share the number?
No. Passkeys and backup codes can provide additional account-security or recovery options when available, but they do not allow one phone number to be attached to two Roblox accounts.
Likewise, a Roblox gift card, a second phone, an authenticator device, PC-cleanup software, or a streaming subscription does not change Roblox’s phone-verification rule. The relevant solution is to manage the number through the account settings or recover the account through Roblox’s official support process.
Common situations
| Situation | What it means |
|---|---|
| You have two Roblox accounts and want to verify both with one number. | Roblox does not allow the same number to be used for phone verification on both accounts. |
| Your number is attached to an account you still control. | Remove or update it under Settings > Account Info > Update Phone, then try the intended account. |
| Your number is attached to an old account you cannot enter. | Use Forgot Password or Username? > Phone to attempt recovery, then contact Roblox Support if necessary. |
| You want to use a parent’s or friend’s number. | Do not use someone else’s number as a workaround. It can complicate ownership, recovery, consent, and future access. |
| You want a second account to avoid a moderation action. | Do not treat an alternate account as an evasion method. Roblox’s Terms of Use allow action against alternate or associated accounts. |
Bottom line
You can have multiple Roblox accounts, but Roblox allows a phone number to be used for phone verification on only one account. If you need the number on a different account, remove or change it on the current account first. If you cannot access that account, use phone-based recovery or contact Roblox Support rather than trying an unofficial workaround.
