You can handle much of the Diamond Casino Heist’s planning and preparation on your own, but you cannot complete the finale alone: it requires at least two players. You also need to own an Arcade to start planning the heist.

What “alone” means for this heist

Solo play can cover the planning and preparation you do before the finale. The finale itself is a multiplayer activity, with current gameplay guides describing a requirement of two to four players. If you want to finish the heist, recruit at least one other player.

What you need to get started

Buy an Arcade before trying to plan the Diamond Casino Heist. Rockstar’s starter guidance identifies the Arcade as the property required to begin planning. The heist follows the usual setup-and-finale structure: preparation missions let you acquire assets for the final job.

Choose an approach that suits your crew

Rockstar’s 2019 announcement lists three approaches: Silent & Sneaky, The Big Con, and Aggressive. It says, “The Diamond Casino Heist gives you three distinct approaches to initially choose from, with multiple ways to execute your chosen approach.” The options broadly favor stealth, deception, or direct combat, but no single approach is established as universally easiest. Consider how much coordination your crew is comfortable with and which style you prefer.

Plan the finale and payout with your teammate

Agree on the crew and payout percentages before launching the finale. Rockstar Support says that if the leader does not accept the percentage before the in-game timer reaches zero, the payout cuts return to the default 15% cut. That is a rule for the percentage-selection interface, not a statement about the total take or a recommended split.
