Yes. A librarian villager can offer a Protection IV enchanted book. Buy the book with emeralds, then use an anvil to apply it to compatible armor. Whether the offer appears can depend on your edition, version and trade settings.

How to get a Protection IV book from a villager

  1. Find or make a librarian: librarians are the villager profession that offers enchanted-book trades. Check the librarian’s trade list for Protection IV; it is a possible offer, not a guaranteed one. The Minecraft Wiki’s villager trading reference lists Protection IV among possible librarian book offers.
  2. When you find the offer, trade emeralds for the enchanted book.
  3. Place the book and a compatible armor piece in an anvil to apply the enchantment. Microsoft’s Minecraft enchanting guide explains anvil use and lists Protection as compatible with helmets, chestplates, leggings, boots and turtle shells.

Why the offer may differ between worlds

Before following a detailed reroll guide, check whether you play Java or Bedrock, which game version you have, and whether Bedrock’s trade-rebalancing experiment is enabled. Exact odds and a guaranteed reroll sequence are not established here for every edition and configuration.

Mojang’s Bedrock 1.20.30 release notes described librarian trade changes as experimental and said players had to enable the experiment in the Experiments menu to test them. Under those changes, offers varied by biome and certain books appeared at Master level. That note documents the experiment in that release; it does not establish the settings or trade pool in every later version.

Which armor can take Protection?

Protection can be applied to a helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots or turtle shell using an anvil. Check that the item is compatible before spending experience and combining it with the book.
