No—not through any documented, supported installation method. Hasselblad’s X2D 100C documentation explains how to update the camera’s firmware, but does not describe an app store, game platform, or installer for arbitrary third-party software. Hasselblad’s Phocus tools are for photography workflows on compatible computers and mobile devices, not apps documented as running on the camera itself.
Firmware updates are not app installations
The X2D 100C can receive official firmware updates that add or adjust camera functions. For example, Hasselblad’s notes for firmware 3.1.0 list face detection, 10-bit HEIF and tethered live-view support through Phocus Mobile 2 or Phocus for Mac (Hasselblad’s 3.1.0 release notes). Those changes extend the camera’s photography features; they do not establish that it can run games or user-selected apps.

Hasselblad’s documentation describes the supported update route, not whether unofficial hardware or firmware modifications might exist. There is no documented, supported path for installing third-party firmware or arbitrary custom software, so attempting an unofficial modification would be outside the instructions covered here.
What software can you use with the X2D?
Hasselblad describes Phocus and Phocus Mobile 2 as image-processing and photography workflow software. The X2D can connect over Wi-Fi to compatible iPhone and iPad devices for image transfer and editing; that is a companion-device workflow, not installation of Phocus on the camera (Hasselblad X2D 100C FAQ).

How to update X2D 100C firmware
- Download the X2D 100C firmware from Hasselblad’s X System Firmware page. Check the page for the current release and its instructions; available versions can change.
- Copy the firmware file to the root of the camera’s built-in SSD or a CFexpress Type B card. A card is optional for this task because the built-in SSD can also hold the file.
- On the camera, open General > Service > Check for Update.
- Select the intended firmware file and follow the on-screen prompts. Confirm that you have selected the appropriate file and version.
- Keep the camera powered on and leave the card in place, if used, until the update finishes. Do not turn the camera off or remove the card during the update.
These steps follow Hasselblad’s X2D 100C User Manual v1.4 (June 2023). Firmware and companion-app requirements may change; check Hasselblad’s current firmware page before updating. For instance, Hasselblad’s notes for firmware 3.2.0 specify a Phocus Mobile 2 v2.0.0-or-later requirement for the experience described in those notes (3.2.0 release notes).
