To report a Fortnite voice conversation, open the Sidebar, select the voice chat tab, choose Report Conversation, wait for the report to load, then select Submit. Do it promptly: when voice reporting is enabled, Fortnite keeps only the latest five minutes of audio available to report.
Report the voice conversation
- Open the Fortnite Sidebar.
- Select the voice chat tab. If you are in a match, Fortnite may open this tab automatically.
- Select Report Conversation.
- Wait for the report to load, then select Submit.
- Close the report screen to return to the game.
These are the steps in Epic Games Support’s voice-reporting instructions. The conversation report can include eligible recent audio if voice reporting was active before the incident.

What the report includes—and when audio is available
With voice reporting on, Fortnite continuously captures the latest five minutes on a rolling basis. Audio older than that window is deleted, so submit the conversation report as soon as you can if you want the audio included. The recording is held on your console or PC, not on Epic’s game servers; it is sent to Epic for moderator review when a participant submits a conversation report. Epic says it cannot access chat audio unless voice reporting is on and a participant submits a report. See Epic’s support explanation and its November 16, 2023 voice-reporting announcement.

Report a specific player separately
A conversation report focuses on the voice chat and its eligible audio. If you want to identify a particular player, use Fortnite’s player-report route as well:
- Open the in-game menu and select Report.
- Choose Submit a report, then A player or sidekick.
- Select the player and the reason for the report, then accept to send it.
Epic also says you can report someone from a recently played player’s profile or from the voice-channel players list. You can mute or block the person to stop interacting with them. Full instructions are on Epic’s player-behavior reporting page.

What counts as reportable conduct, and what may happen
Epic’s Community Rules address bullying and harassment and state: “Threats of harm to yourself or others are taken seriously—don’t make them, especially as a joke.” If someone’s statement makes you believe a player may be at risk, Epic directs players to report it in-game or contact player support.
Epic says outcomes depend on the seriousness and number of violations. Possible consequences include a warning, temporary restrictions on social features such as voice or text chat, or a permanent account ban. A report does not guarantee a specific action; Epic reviews the information to decide whether action is warranted. See Epic’s misconduct-reporting guidance.

For an immediate safety concern
If a threat suggests someone may be in immediate danger, do not rely on an in-game report as an emergency response. Epic’s support guidance says players can also contact local authorities in these situations. Use the appropriate local emergency or safety channel when the risk is urgent.

Fortnite’s Sidebar contains voice controls, reporting, and communication settings. Party Chat connects members of a party across supported Epic surfaces; Game Chat connects players in the same island instance when that island supports it. The type of chat does not change the key evidence limitation: audio must have been captured with voice reporting enabled before the incident to be attached.
