EA has run Battlefield 6 free trials before, including one near Thanksgiving in 2025, but that past promotion does not confirm a repeat. Check EA’s official Battlefield 6 news and updates for any later announcement.
Was there a Battlefield 6 Thanksgiving free trial in 2025?
Yes. EA’s official guide said the 2025 trial ran from November 25 at 4 a.m. PT (12 p.m. UTC) through December 2 at the same time. It offered three playlists across three maps, including a casual multiplayer option. Those are historical details, not a schedule or content promise for 2026. EA’s 2025 trial guide has the original event information.
How did players access the 2025 trial?
For that event, EA directed players to download the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC experience on their preferred gaming platform, then access the trial. EA wrote: “To access the Free Trial, simply download the free-to-play Battlefield: REDSEC experience on your preferred gaming platform.” This described the 2025 promotion; wait for a new event’s own access instructions before assuming the same route applies.
EA’s 2025 guide also said REDSEC progress carried into the trial, and progress earned in the trial carried into the full Battlefield 6 game after purchase. That progression rule is confirmed for that event only; EA has not established that it will apply to a future trial.

What would you need if EA announces another trial?
EA’s published trial disclaimer lists REDSEC and current game updates on an applicable platform, an internet connection, an EA account, and acceptance of EA’s User Agreement and Privacy & Cookie Policy. It also says the trial may be played once per EA account and that timing is subject to change. Check the terms attached to any new event for its actual platform availability and requirements. EA’s Battlefield 6 game offers and disclaimers contains the stated conditions.
Is REDSEC the same as the full Battlefield 6 game?
No. REDSEC is the free-to-play experience EA used as the download route for the 2025 trial; the time-limited trial provided access to specified Battlefield 6 content for that event. The full game is a separate paid product for continued access. Buying it is optional, not a requirement to download REDSEC or evidence of a free 2026 trial. EA lists purchase options for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC storefronts, including Steam, the EA app, and the Epic Games Store; availability and offers can change. See EA’s Battlefield 6 purchase page.

What other 2026 trial has EA announced?
EA’s Season 4 event guide announced a Battlefield 6 free trial running September 15–22, 2026. That event shows EA held another trial during the year, but it does not establish a Thanksgiving event. The official news listing retrieved through October 2, 2026, included a Season 5 look-ahead and no Thanksgiving-week trial announcement. Read EA’s Season 4 event guide.
