No. Kirby Air Riders is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, not a game for the original Nintendo Switch. Nintendo lists Switch 2 as the required system, and its November 20, 2025 launch announcement says the game is available exclusively on that console.
Does Kirby Air Riders work on the original Switch?
No. Nintendo identifies Nintendo Switch 2 as the game’s system and describes it as exclusive to Switch 2. The original Switch is not listed as a supported platform. Nintendo’s US product listing gives the platform and physical-edition details, while its November 20, 2025 launch announcement states that the game launched exclusively on Switch 2. Nintendo UK also calls it “only on Nintendo Switch 2” on its game page.

That means a physical copy will not make the game playable on Switch 1: Nintendo lists a physical edition, but the required platform remains Switch 2. If you own only the original Switch, you need access to a Nintendo Switch 2 to play it.
When did Kirby Air Riders come out?
Nintendo lists November 20, 2025 as the release date, and its launch announcement says the game was available that day. That date has passed.
