Yes. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe supports handheld mode, so you can play it on a Nintendo Switch Lite using the system’s built-in screen and controls. The key limitation is multiplayer on one console: Nintendo says multiple players sharing a console cannot play together in handheld mode. Switch Lite also cannot connect to a TV.
How Mario Kart 8 Deluxe works on Switch Lite
Nintendo lists handheld mode as supported for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nintendo’s Switch Lite guidance says the console can play Nintendo Switch games that support handheld mode, which makes the Lite compatible with the game for portable play. Nintendo’s product listing also cautions that software compatibility and play experience may differ on Switch Lite; it does not specify a game-specific performance penalty.

Playing with other people on one Switch Lite
The Lite’s built-in controls are for the person holding the console. Nintendo’s instructions say that multiple people using the same console cannot play together in handheld mode, so plan on a tabletop arrangement with additional controllers rather than expecting the built-in controls to serve multiple players.
