Yes, but only in games that support keyboard and mouse controls. PS5 can connect USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice at the system level; each game’s developer decides whether those devices work during gameplay. Pairing a peripheral with the console does not make it compatible with every game.
Does a keyboard and mouse work for PS5 games?
PlayStation says USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice are supported at a system level, while game developers decide whether to support them in a particular game. That distinction is the key: a PS5 may recognize your devices even when the game you want to play does not accept their input. PlayStation stated this in its PS5: The Ultimate FAQ, published November 9, 2020.
Before buying peripherals for a specific game, check that game’s current information from its publisher or developer. Look for confirmation that keyboard and mouse controls work on the PS5 version, rather than assuming support because a PC version uses them.

Connect a USB keyboard or mouse to the console. PlayStation’s setup guidance notes that not all devices work with PS5, so recognition is not guaranteed for every model.

Pair Bluetooth devices
- Put the keyboard or mouse into Bluetooth pairing mode.
- On PS5, open Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories.
- Select the device from the list. An incompatible device may still appear in the search results.
- After pairing, find it under Registered accessories. It should normally reconnect when the device and console are on; if it does not, select it there and choose Connect.
These steps follow PlayStation Support’s PS5 keyboard and mouse instructions.
What can you adjust in the PS5 settings?
Under Settings > Accessories, PS5 offers keyboard options for language and key-repeat delay and rate. Mouse settings include left- or right-handed use and pointer speed. These system settings do not add keyboard-and-mouse controls to a game that does not support them.

How to check a game’s support
- Check the publisher’s or developer’s current support page or documentation for the PS5 version.
- Confirm whether the game supports both keyboard and mouse, or only one of them.
- Look for any stated restrictions; support may not cover every mode or feature.
PlayStation’s official guidance leaves game-level support to developers, so console pairing alone is not proof that gameplay controls will work.
