Yes, but the official PC release is limited to Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure, the first game. Activision released it for Windows PC in 2011, and its setup uses a USB-connected Portal of Power. Later games do not have an established official PC release in the sources cited here; playing their Wii versions on a computer is a separate, emulator-based option with game- and setup-specific compatibility.
Which Skylanders games can you play on PC?
Activision’s Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure game page lists PC as a platform and gives October 12, 2011 as its release date. An Activision announcement dated June 6, 2011 specifically names Windows PC.
That establishes an official PC version of the first game, not a PC release of the entire series. The official Skylanders Imaginators page, for example, does not list PC as a platform. For later titles, the documented computer route is to emulate a console version rather than install an official PC edition.
How to play the official PC version
Activision’s 2011 PC Quick Start Guide describes installing the game and connecting the Portal of Power’s USB connector to the computer. The portal reads the physical toys and sends their in-game characters into play.
#1 Best Overall
- Install the PC version of Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure.
- Connect the Portal of Power to the computer using its USB connector.
- Place a supported figure on the portal to bring that character into the game. The guide says the portal supports up to two figures and one location or magic item at the same time.
Activision’s guide says, “The Portal of Power interaction figure surface will illuminate when it is properly connected.” It is a 2011 guide, however, and does not confirm compatibility with current Windows releases. The available official documentation does not establish that the game works on every modern PC, so check the computer and operating-system setup before relying on this route.
Can you play later Skylanders games on a computer?
Dolphin Emulator’s documentation covers the Wii versions of Spyro’s Adventure and Trap Team, with options to use a physical Portal of Power or Dolphin’s emulated portal. See its pages for Spyro’s Adventure and Trap Team.

This is not an official PC port: it means running a Wii version through an emulator, and results can vary by game version and configuration. Dolphin’s compatibility information can include gaps where testing is limited, so a listing or documented option is not a guarantee that a particular setup will work smoothly.
Physical portal or emulated portal?
Dolphin documents both connecting a physical portal and using its emulated portal feature. The emulated option means a physical accessory is not required for every emulator setup. If you plan to use a physical portal, verify the connection and configuration for your specific setup; if you need a feature tied to a particular portal model, check its compatibility before choosing one.

Do you need a Portal of Power, and will your toys work?
For Activision’s original PC release, the quick-start guide calls for connecting a Portal of Power by USB. On Dolphin, a physical portal is one documented approach, but the emulator also offers an emulated portal, so the accessory is not essential to every setup.
Compatibility is not universal across portals and toys. Activision’s Imaginators Portal of Power FAQ, published November 22, 2019, says the Imaginators portal works with earlier games. Older portals can also work with Imaginators, but portals from before Trap Team may lack features needed by later games. In particular, traps require a portal with a trap slot.

- Character is sold loose.
- Character plays in Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team, Superchargers, and Imaginators. Does not play in Spyro's Adventure.
Activision’s Skylanders Toy Compatibility FAQ describes the series’ general progression: figures introduced in a game generally work in later games, while figures introduced later do not work in earlier titles. Bowser, Donkey Kong, and their SuperChargers vehicles are Nintendo-system-only exceptions.

| Route | What it offers | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Official PC release | Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure; Activision’s 2011 PC guide documents USB portal setup. | You need the PC game and a functioning portal. The 2011 guide does not certify compatibility with current Windows releases. |
| Dolphin with a Wii game version | Dolphin documents Wii versions of Spyro’s Adventure and Trap Team, plus physical or emulated portal options. | Check compatibility for the specific title and version, configure the portal approach, and consider whether you need to preserve or use figure data. |
If you want the straightforward official computer release, look for the PC edition of Spyro’s Adventure. If you want a later game, expect an emulator setup rather than an official PC version, and verify the title-specific compatibility details before investing time in configuration.
