No current free offer is confirmed. Rockstar’s free copy promotion was a limited-time offer announced on October 2, 2019, for the classic PC version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Rockstar’s later support pages explain how the Launcher works and address claim errors, but they do not say the giveaway has returned.
What Rockstar’s free offer included
Rockstar’s October 2, 2019 announcement invited players to install the Rockstar Games Launcher and claim a free copy of the classic PC game. The copy would be added permanently to the player’s library. Rockstar described the promotion as “For a limited time”; the announcement does not establish that it remains redeemable today. Why the Launcher may still show San Andreas
Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas among the titles supported by its PC Launcher. That means the Launcher supports the game; it does not mean the 2019 free offer is open for new claims. Rockstar’s supported-title list is not a giveaway announcement.

- Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.
- Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.
- On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.
What to do if you think you already claimed it
If you claimed the offer while it was available, sign in to the Rockstar Games Launcher with the account you used at the time and check your library. If you cannot access the Store Menu or receive an error, Rockstar has a support article for the claim-related issue, updated April 27, 2024. Its wording, “This feature is not currently available,” describes an access problem; it is not evidence that a new promotion exists. See Rockstar’s claim-error guidance.
Rockstar’s general offer terms say an offer must be received to be redeemed, and eligibility can be limited by recipient or platform. If you believe your account qualified, follow the support article and review the applicable Rockstar Games Terms of Service.
