JioGames Cloud officially supports both wired and wireless controllers on desktop, mobile and TV. That is platform-level support, not a guarantee that every controller works with every game. For reliable setup, use Google Chrome on a computer, the JioGames app on phones and TVs, and check both JioGames’ tested-controller list and the individual game’s control information.
This guide explains the supported devices, connection steps, tested models, Jio Game Controller pairing process, network requirements and the fixes to try when a gamepad is detected but does not work in-game.

What JioGames Cloud officially supports
JioGames Support states: “Yes, both wired and wireless controllers are supported across desktop, mobile, and TV.” The service categories are:
- Desktop and laptop: JioGames Cloud in Google Chrome.
- Android and iOS phones: The JioGames app, with the app described by JioGames as the best experience compared with mobile-browser access.
- Jio Set-top Box: The JioGames app.
- Android TV: The JioGames app.
These statements establish that the service can accept controller input on those device categories. They do not mean that every Bluetooth or USB gamepad is certified, or that every Cloud title has gamepad controls. JioGames directs users to its supported-controller list for model guidance and says control options can vary by device and game.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
Before buying or pairing a controller, answer two separate questions:
- Is the controller visible to the device running JioGames?
- Does the particular game accept controller input on that device?
A “yes” to the first question cannot override a “no” to the second. A controller may work in one Cloud title and be ignored in another.
Controller compatibility versus game compatibility
JioGames’ service FAQ and its tested-controller page address hardware compatibility at the platform level. Game support is a separate layer. A title may expose keyboard-and-mouse controls, touch controls, gamepad controls, or a combination, depending on the device version and the game’s own implementation.

Check the game’s details in JioGames before troubleshooting hardware. If the title does not list controller input, changing Bluetooth settings, replacing a cable or switching browsers is unlikely to make it accept a gamepad. If the title does list controller support but the pad is not responding, follow the device and browser checks below.

Jio’s separate FAQ for the Jio Game Controller names seven games for that controller on a Jio Set-top Box: Mr Racer, Jungle Adventure 2, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Street of Rage, Alpha Gun, Skater Kid and Traffic Race. This is a product-and-device-specific list. It is not a complete catalogue of JioGames Cloud titles, and it should not be read as proof that those are the only Cloud games with controller support or that every other title accepts a gamepad.
Requirements before you connect a controller
- Use the supported client: Google Chrome is the only desktop browser JioGames identifies as supported for Cloud play. On phones, Set-top Box and Android TV, use the JioGames app.
- Keep the device updated: Install current operating-system and JioGames app updates so Bluetooth, USB and controller permissions are available.
- Prepare the connection: Have a USB cable or charged wireless controller ready. Wireless pairing is performed in the host device’s Bluetooth settings unless the controller’s manual specifies a different method.
- Check the game: Confirm that the title offers controller input on the device you plan to use.
- Meet the streaming requirement: JioGames states a 40 Mbps minimum connection and recommends 100 Mbps or more, preferably through 5 GHz Wi-Fi or 5G. These figures concern Cloud-streaming quality, not whether the controller is electrically compatible.
Lower or unstable bandwidth can cause delayed video, input feeling sluggish or a disconnection even when the controller is paired correctly. Test input detection separately from streaming quality.
How to set up a controller on each device
Desktop or laptop in Chrome
- Open the JioGames Cloud site in Google Chrome and sign in.
- Connect the controller by USB, or pair it in the computer’s Bluetooth settings. Wait until the operating system shows it as connected.
- In Chrome, allow the JioGames site to use pop-ups if prompted. JioGames also advises enabling hardware acceleration for Cloud play.
- Open the game’s details and verify that controller input is listed.
- Start the title and press a face button or move a stick. If the game displays a control-selection screen, choose the gamepad option rather than keyboard and mouse.
If Chrome does not detect input, leave the game, confirm that the controller appears in the operating system’s USB or Bluetooth panel, then reconnect it before launching the title again. Do not use another desktop browser as a compatibility test: JioGames identifies Chrome as the supported desktop browser.

- Install or open the JioGames app and sign in.
- Pair the controller from Android’s Bluetooth settings, or attach it by USB if the device and controller support wired OTG connections.
- Return to the JioGames app and select Cloud Games.
- Open the game’s information page and check its controller controls.
- Launch the game after the controller shows as connected. If controls are not available, close the title, reconnect the controller and try again.
JioGames says the app provides the best experience compared with mobile-browser access. A controller that pairs with Android is therefore not, by itself, a reason to expect identical behaviour in a phone browser.

iPhone or iPad
- Pair the controller in iOS or iPadOS Bluetooth settings, following the controller manufacturer’s pairing mode.
- Open the JioGames app, sign in and choose Cloud Games.
- Check the individual title for controller support before launching.
- Start the game and test the analogue sticks, directional pad and face buttons on its control screen or opening menu.
If iOS shows the controller as connected but the game does not respond, the likely causes are title-level control restrictions, an unsupported model or a stale pairing. Forget the device in Bluetooth settings, pair it again and retest a game that explicitly lists controller input.
Jio Set-top Box
- Open the JioGames app on the Set-top Box and sign in.
- Put the controller into pairing mode and connect it through the Set-top Box’s Bluetooth settings, or attach it by a supported cable.
- Open a Cloud game whose details indicate controller support.
- Test the controls before beginning a long session.
Jio’s controller FAQ says its own Jio Game Controller is compatible with Android devices and Jio Set-top Box and recommends the Set-top Box for the best results. The seven-game list cited in that FAQ applies specifically to that controller on that device.
Android TV
- Open the JioGames app on Android TV and log in.
- Pair the controller in Android TV’s Bluetooth settings or connect it by USB where supported.
- Launch Cloud Games and confirm the selected title accepts controller input.
- Keep the controller within reliable wireless range and test all required buttons before playing.
TV support at the JioGames Cloud level does not make every television, USB port or gamepad combination interchangeable. The exact Android TV model and the game’s control implementation still matter.

- Turn on the controller with the Jio button.
- Hold Select and Start together for five seconds.
- Wait until the first two LEDs blink green at the same time.
- On the host device, select the Bluetooth entry named in the format Jio JGC 100 xxxx.
According to Jio’s FAQ, the controller remembers the paired device and reconnects automatically. The same FAQ states that up to four Jio Game Controllers can be connected at once, that a full charge takes one hour, and that the warranty lasts six months from the invoice date. Those figures apply to the Jio Game Controller and are not specifications for unrelated models.
If the Jio controller does not appear, switch it off, repeat the Select-and-Start pairing mode and remove an old Jio controller entry from the host’s Bluetooth list before scanning again. For a third-party gamepad, use its own manual for pairing mode; do not substitute the Jio button sequence.
Controllers JioGames lists as tested
JioGames describes its controller page as a curated list tested to deliver the best experience across JioGames platforms. Being listed means JioGames has identified the model for its compatibility guidance; it is not a promise that every game supports that controller on every device. The page links several models to Amazon listings, but current prices and stock are not established by the compatibility information.

Choose between wired and wireless based on the host device and your priorities. Wired models avoid Bluetooth pairing and battery charging but require a suitable port and cable length. Wireless models reduce cable clutter and suit a sofa or phone setup, but they add pairing, battery and possible interference checks. Neither connection type guarantees that a particular game exposes gamepad controls.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to do when the controller is not detected
| Symptom | Likely layer | Action |
|---|---|---|
| The controller does not appear in Bluetooth or USB settings | Physical connection or pairing | Charge it, use the manufacturer’s pairing mode, try a different cable or port, and remove an old Bluetooth pairing before scanning again. |
| The device sees the controller, but the game ignores it | Game compatibility | Check the title’s details for controller input. Close and relaunch the game after connecting the controller. |
| Buttons work intermittently | Wireless link, cable or battery | Move closer to the host, charge the controller, remove competing Bluetooth connections and test a different cable or port. |
| Video and controls feel delayed | Cloud stream quality | Check the connection separately. JioGames states 40 Mbps minimum and recommends 100 Mbps or more, preferably 5 GHz Wi-Fi or 5G. |
| Cloud play will not start on a computer | Browser configuration | Use Google Chrome, enable hardware acceleration and allow pop-ups for the JioGames Cloud site. |
| The Jio Game Controller will not pair | Jio-specific pairing mode | Turn it on with the Jio button, hold Select and Start for five seconds until the first two LEDs blink green together, then select the Jio JGC 100 xxxx entry. |
Work through the layers in order: game support, device detection, browser or app, and finally network quality. This prevents you from replacing a working controller when the actual problem is an unsupported title or an unstable stream.
Network and browser settings that affect play
Cloud gaming sends video to your device while returning controller input to the service. A gamepad can therefore be perfectly paired while play still feels poor because the stream is congested. JioGames’ published figures are a 40 Mbps minimum and a recommendation of 100 Mbps or more, preferably on 5 GHz Wi-Fi or 5G. JioGames warns that lower speeds may cause lag or disconnections.
Recommended Free Tools
These are service requirements, not a controller certification test. If the controller responds immediately in the device’s Bluetooth or input panel but the game reacts late, focus on the network: reduce competing traffic, move closer to the 5 GHz access point, use a wired network where practical, or test 5G. If the game never responds at all, return to the title and device checks rather than assuming bandwidth is the cause.
On desktop, use Chrome only, enable hardware acceleration and permit pop-ups for the Cloud site as directed by JioGames. Those settings help the streaming client launch and render correctly; they cannot add controller support to a title that lacks it.
Best-practice setup checklist
- Confirm the exact game lists controller input on your target device.
- Prefer a model on JioGames’ current tested-controller list when you want the clearest compatibility starting point.
- Connect the controller before launching the game.
- On desktop, use Chrome with hardware acceleration enabled and pop-ups allowed.
- On phones, Set-top Box and Android TV, use the JioGames app.
- For the Jio Game Controller, use the five-second Select-plus-Start pairing procedure; do not apply it to third-party models.
- Check that the operating system shows the controller as connected before troubleshooting the game.
- Keep streaming bandwidth at or above JioGames’ stated 40 Mbps minimum; 100 Mbps or more is recommended.
- Retest after removing old Bluetooth pairings, reconnecting the cable or restarting the app.
When to contact JioGames support
Contact JioGames after you have verified the game’s controller information, confirmed that the host device detects the controller, used Chrome on desktop or the official app on other supported devices, and checked the connection. JioGames directs users to [email protected]. Include the device category, controller model, connection type, game title, operating-system version, whether the controller appears in system settings and the exact step at which it fails. That information separates a title-level limitation from a pairing or streaming problem.
Bottom line for choosing and using a controller
JioGames Cloud does support wired and wireless controllers across desktop, mobile and TV. The dependable route is to use Chrome on a computer or the JioGames app on a phone, Set-top Box or Android TV; choose a model from JioGames’ tested list when possible; and verify controller support for the individual game. Pairing a controller proves only that the device can see it. A playable result requires all three layers—supported host, supported controller and a game that accepts gamepad input—plus a stable Cloud connection.
