Its Fire and Ice affinity changes during combat, so there is no single permanent elemental weakness: use the opposite element to its current stance, or rely on neutral damage to avoid accidentally healing it. The fight is easier to read when you also manage its fire orbs and distinguish the two hammer patterns.
Where to find Chromatic Braseleur
In The Reacher, start from the Peak flag and follow the route across the grappling points to the floating platform. The encounter is an optional detour, not a story-required fight. How its Fire and Ice weakness works
Braseleur shifts between Fire and Ice affinities during the fight. It is vulnerable to the opposite element while absorbing its current element, which can heal it rather than damage it. In practice, check its current stance before using elemental attacks: use Ice against its Fire state and Fire against its Ice state.
Because the affinity can change mid-fight, Fire- or Ice-affinity weapons can become risky during a sequence. If you do not want to track the switch closely, avoid those weapon affinities and use neutral damage. Both Neoseeker and Game8 describe the changing elemental behavior; the community guide by Syphos on GameFAQs also reports Fire/Ice stance changes.

How to handle the fire orbs
Braseleur summons two fire orbs that fire beams, inflict Burn, and keep up pressure during the boss’s turns. You can address them in either of two ways:
- Destroy them with Free Aim: Free Aim can break the orbs and temporarily stop their beam attacks. They return when Braseleur summons them again.
- Parry their shots: The beams can be parried, creating a counterattack opportunity. Neoseeker’s guide describes an audio cue roughly a second before the timing window; treat that as a cue to learn rather than a guaranteed exact countdown.
If the beams are disrupting your defense or inflicting Burn, prioritize removing the orbs. If you can reliably read their firing cue, parrying lets you answer the attack without waiting for another summon cycle.

How to defend against the hammer attacks
Hammer Combo
The Hammer Combo is a six-hit string with a slow wind-up. Wait until the attack begins before committing to dodges or parries; reacting to the initial preparation too early can leave you out of sync with the hits. Follow the full sequence rather than assuming the first swing is the only threat.
Hammer Smash
Hammer Smash has two distinct parts. The initial ground strike calls for a jump counter. Braseleur then leaps into an overhead follow-up, which you can dodge or parry. Keep the responses separate: jump-counter the ground strike, then defend against the leap.

Game8 lists the Reacher encounter’s rewards as:
- Braselim for Lune
- 2 Resplendent Chroma Catalysts
- 5 Colours of Lumina
These rewards refer to the optional Reacher fight. Game8 also lists a separate Chromatic Braseleur appearance in Endless Tower Stage 6, Trial 2; that is a different encounter context, so do not assume the Reacher rewards apply there. See Game8’s guide for its listing.
