When was the Chrono Odyssey Steam playtest?
Kakao Games and Chrono Studio announced the schedule at Summer Game Fest 2025. Kakao Games Japan’s June 7, 2025 release listed the beta as running from June 20, 2025 at 16:00 through June 23 at 15:59. The cited passage does not identify a time zone, so those clock times should not be converted into local time without checking the official Steam schedule.

There was a discrepancy in contemporaneous coverage: MMORPG.com reported June 20–22 and cited an official Steam post giving midnight to 11:59 p.m. PDT. For the publisher’s announced date range, use June 20–23; for regional access hours, consult the Steam announcement rather than assuming the publisher’s listed times are local.
Can you still join the beta?
No. The first closed beta concluded in June 2025. In its July 1, 2025 Steam wrap-up, community manager Jenny wrote, “The curtains have closed on the first Chrono Odyssey Closed Beta.”

The wrap-up said the team collected thousands of pieces of feedback through Discord, X, surveys, and other channels. It listed performance stability, combat feedback and animation polish, clearer quest objectives and map guidance, and more intuitive UI and PC controller support as requested improvements. Those comments describe feedback from the test, not a measure of overall player satisfaction or a technical benchmark.
Has another Chrono Odyssey playtest been announced?
The official sources reviewed do not provide a date for another playtest. A December 24, 2025 developer note discusses ongoing development and systems in progress, but it is not a new beta announcement.

What did the Steam beta include?
The June event was a Steam-only PC closed beta. The publisher described the game as in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, but those broader platform plans did not mean the beta was available on consoles.
According to Kakao Games Japan’s announcement, the test let players explore Setera, undertake early story quests, and play solo or in a party. The announced combat included time-manipulation actions such as rewinding and stopping time, with three available classes: Swordsman, Ranger, and Berserker. These are descriptions of the planned beta content, not an independent assessment of how the game performed.

The publisher also said applications had surpassed one million globally by June 7, 2025. That was a publisher-reported applicant count, not a verified count of participants.

An earlier Kakao Games Japan May 20, 2025 announcement said only that a PC closed beta was planned for June and that Steam registration was open. The June 7 release supplied the specific date window later used for the test.
