A reproduced Paradox press release lists ten included packs, expanded building and interface tools, keyboard and mouse support, and two graphics modes with publisher-stated frame-rate targets. Owners of the original Nintendo Switch Edition are promised a 70% loyalty discount, though the announcement does not provide its terms.
What is announced for Switch 2?
The October 28, 2026 release is Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition, not Cities: Skylines II. The details come from a Reddit post reproducing text identified by its poster as a Paradox press release; they are announcement claims rather than independent testing or a direct publisher listing. The older Nintendo Switch Edition launched on September 14, 2018, according to Nintendo UK’s page for that version.
The announcement describes the Switch 2 edition as optimized for the platform, with improved visuals and performance, expanded building tools, and added ways to play. It does not establish a price, storefront listing, physical game-card release, or hands-on performance results.
What content is included?
The announcement names ten packs:
- After Dark
- Snowfall
- Green Cities
- Sunset Harbor
- Map Pack 3
- Country Road
- Pearls from the East
- Deep Focus Radio
- Carols, Candles & Candy
- Match Day
Nintendo’s page for the 2018 Switch Edition says that earlier version included After Dark and Snowfall. That is separate from the ten-pack list announced for Expanded Edition; the announcement does not promise access to additional DLC beyond the items it names.
