What did Cities: Skylines II patch 1.1.8f1 add?
Paradox said it bundled the homelessness fix with the Decorations Menu because both were ready to ship, alongside other bug fixes. The menu was an in-game detailing feature, not a physical decorating product. The official September 4, 2024 developer diary describes the patch’s broad scope; its public page does not reproduce the full detailed changelog.

The patch was part of a wider effort to give players more ways to detail their cities. On September 16, Paradox described the Decorations Menu as one element of that work and previewed road decorations and a line tool for props and trees as features still in progress at that point. Those previews should not be mistaken for features shipped in 1.1.8. (Paradox’s release-schedule update.)
What did the homelessness fix actually resolve?
Paradox’s October 23, 2024 follow-up for patch 1.1.10f1 clarified the practical result: tents in parks would clear after homeless residents had left. It did not promise that every city’s homelessness or stuck-citizen problems would disappear. The same note acknowledged that sizeable homeless populations or citizens stuck in the simulation could remain, and asked affected players to submit bug reports that identify their mods and include the affected save. How did the detailing tools develop after 1.1.8?
Later tools belong to subsequent updates, not the Decorations Patch. In its December 11, 2024 Detailer’s Patch #2 diary, Paradox described a Line Tool for straight or curved placement with adjustable spacing, and a Roadside Tree Selector for choosing tree types and ages along roads. That update also covered traffic routes, additional roads and parking options, and ten pocket parks.
What should players know about later patches and mods?
The October 2024 1.1.10f1 follow-up warned that mods might need updating. It also noted increased highway road-noise pollution and suggested sound barriers near residential areas. These are later-patch details, not functions of the Decorations Menu.

Patch 1.1.8f1 is historical. The official game feed lists version 1.6.2f1, dated September 15, 2026, as a later update; its notes include a fix for homeless people who could get stuck coordinating trips with family. The update supports loading old saves and notes that a UI-framework change could affect a limited number of mods. Check your installed build and mod compatibility before troubleshooting against advice written for 1.1.8. (Cities: Skylines II official Steam announcements.)
