Bombs Away is a historical Clash Royale mode, not a confirmed live October 2026 event. For its central-Mortar objective, the most useful deck ideas are built around a high-damage control unit, spells and cheap support—but the available sources do not establish a current, win-rate-verified best deck or a guaranteed eight-card list.
What Bombs Away asks your deck to do
Supercell described the objective as: “Capture the mortar in the center to get some backup!” The event’s central Mortar makes the key deck-building question whether you can contest that structure, keep your control unit alive, and respond when your opponent does the same. Supercell’s April 2024 announcement scheduled Bombs Away for April 25–May 1, 2024, in 1v1 and 2v2. Its associated challenge ran April 29–May 1, 2024, with a banner decoration listed as the reward.
Best deck ideas: build around a Mortar-control core
Theria Games’ March 21, 2025 guide recommends high-damage units backed by spells and defensive or cycle support. Treat these as dated archetype suggestions, not tested rankings or a verified best Bombs Away challenge deck. The guide does not provide a complete, currently validated eight-card list.

Inferno control with cycle support
The guide suggests Inferno Tower or Inferno Dragon to bring ramping damage to the Mortar contest. It says Inferno Tower may last longer in this role than Inferno Dragon; that is the guide author’s recommendation, not a controlled comparison. Skeletons and Ice Spirit are suggested as inexpensive cycle and support options to help get back to an Inferno unit.
Spells to protect the contest
Zap is recommended to reset opposing Inferno units and help protect your own attempt to control the Mortar. Arrows or Fireball can clear or weaken troops threatening the unit you commit to the objective. Choose support with the opponent’s response in mind: a damaging unit is only useful if it can keep attacking.

Secondary pressure while the Mortar is contested
Goblin Drill is presented as a possible secondary win condition when the opponent is occupied responding to Mortar pressure. The guide also discusses Mini P.E.K.K.A. plus Zap as another high-damage way to contest. These are alternatives to consider, not evidence that either combination outperforms the others.
How to choose between the archetype options
Compare candidate builds by role rather than assuming one is universally strongest. The available recommendations support these practical checks:

- Protection: Can your support spells or troops deal with units threatening your control card?
- Reset answer: If the opponent uses an Inferno-based contest, do you have a reset such as Zap?
- Return cycle: Do inexpensive support cards help you cycle back to your key control unit?
- Pressure elsewhere: Does a secondary option such as Goblin Drill give the opponent another threat to answer while you contest the Mortar?

Is Bombs Away available now?
Supercell’s October 5, 2026 Shocktober season announcement lists that season’s schedule but does not include Bombs Away. That supports treating the mode as historical unless a current in-game notice or later official announcement says it has returned; it does not prove the mode can never come back.
