That is a historical account, not confirmation that the game can still be downloaded or played today.
What was Cloud Raiders?
Game Insight’s free-to-play action-strategy game put each player in charge of a floating island. The core loop was to build resource-producing structures and defenses, train units, then attack computer-controlled or player-run bases to collect resources. Contemporary descriptions name troops such as grunts, archers, and bombers, and characterize player-versus-player combat as a major focus. iMore’s May 2014 coverage and the launch announcement reproduced by Capsule Computers both describe the game’s sky-island setting and raids.
Which platforms shared the game?
At its May 2014 iOS launch, the game was described as available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Facebook. The launch report said players could be matched across platforms, while iMore reported that battles and clan features crossed platform boundaries. This was a broad cross-platform promise for a mobile strategy game of that period, but it should not be read as a statement about present-day compatibility.

How did the base-building and multiplayer loop work?
Players developed their island by adding buildings that generated resources and defenses intended to protect the base. They trained an army and launched raids against AI or human opponents to take resources for further development. The design paired asynchronous base progression with competitive attacks rather than limiting play to battles between devices on the same platform.

Clans supplied the social layer. iMore reported clan chat, the ability to share units, and leaderboard rankings. Those features and the online requirement are descriptions from 2014 coverage; they do not establish how the game behaves now.
How did accounts and purchases work?
In iMore’s 2014 account, players linked Facebook to use cloud saves and preserve progress when moving between devices. The game was free to play, with optional purchases of premium currency called gems. iMore also said missions could award gems and described using them to unlock the ability to upgrade multiple buildings at once. These are historical details about the version reviewed at launch, not evidence of current store listings, prices, or transactions.

Can you still play Cloud Raiders on iPhone?
Current iOS availability and server operation are not established by the available records. AppBrain, a third-party Android catalog, reports that the Android app was removed from Google Play on December 16, 2023; that does not confirm anything about the iOS App Store, previously installed copies, or whether the game’s servers remain online. AppBrain’s catalog page is not an official shutdown notice.
TouchArcade’s catalog lists June 9, 2020, as the last update represented in its record, but a catalog date is not confirmation of ongoing support or service status. TouchArcade’s Cloud Raiders listing therefore helps date the game’s history, not answer whether an iPhone installation works today.
