When a Conan Exiles dedicated server is missing from the browser, first separate listing from connectivity: try Direct Connect to the server’s public IP on UDP port 7777 from a different network. If that works, the game port is reachable and the failure is usually the query or registration path. If it fails, fix port forwarding, firewalls, the public address, or CGNAT before troubleshooting the browser.

Know which port does what
Conan Exiles uses separate UDP ports for player traffic, browser probing, and server queries. Forwarding only one port can leave a server playable by one method but invisible in the list.

The pinger and query ports are different jobs. A server can accept a direct game connection while failing the browser’s query, so a successful Direct Connect test does not prove that every listing port is correct.
Fix the network path in the right order
1. Give the server computer a stable LAN address
Router rules point to a local address such as 192.168.1.50. If DHCP later gives the computer a different address, the rules continue pointing at the wrong device and the server disappears from the public internet.

- Create a DHCP reservation in the router for the server computer’s network adapter, or configure a static address outside the router’s DHCP pool.
- Record the address and verify that the dedicated server is running on that machine, not on another computer or virtual adapter.
- After changing the reservation, restart the server and confirm the forwarding rules still target the same LAN address.
2. Forward the required ports
Create inbound rules on the internet router for the server’s LAN address. For a default single server, forward UDP 7777, UDP 7778, and UDP 27015. If you changed either configured port, forward the new value instead. Allow TCP 7777 as well when PC mod downloads are required.
Use the same external and internal port unless your router specifically requires a translation. Do not forward a port to a different host than the one running the dedicated server. Apply the router configuration and restart the server before testing.
3. Allow the executable through the host firewall
Windows Firewall can block a correctly forwarded port. Create inbound allow rules for the dedicated-server executable, or explicit rules for UDP 7777, UDP 7778, and the configured query port. Add TCP 7777 for mod delivery on PC.
- Check both Private and the active network profile when the server machine changes networks.
- Remove or disable duplicate deny rules that take precedence over the allow rule.
- After a firewall change, restart the server and watch the launcher’s port indicators again.
4. Check the public address and CGNAT
Port forwarding cannot make a server reachable when the internet provider places the connection behind carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT). Compare the router’s WAN address with the public address shown by an independent “what is my IP” service. If the router displays a private or shared address, inbound connections may not be possible without a publicly routable address or a provider option that removes CGNAT.

A changing public address also invalidates old connection details. Give players the current address, use a dynamic-DNS name if appropriate, and confirm that the name resolves to the current address before testing.
Set the ports consistently in Engine.ini or the launch command
Use one configuration method and keep every value consistent. Mixing an old command-line value with a different Engine.ini value makes it difficult to know which port the running process actually selected.

Set the game and query ports in the [OnlineSubsystemNull] section:

Port=7777The exact location of Port= can vary with the installed server build; the important requirement is that the active Engine.ini contains the intended game port and that GameServerQueryPort= is under [OnlineSubsystemNull]. Make a backup before editing, preserve section headers, and remove obsolete query settings under [OnlineSubsystemSteam]. The older Steam query entry is deprecated for the current dedicated-server query implementation.

Launch parameters
The equivalent command-line options are:
-Port=7777 -QueryPort=27015Use the command-line values only if the launcher or service that starts the server actually passes them to the dedicated-server process. If a startup script supplies different values, those values can override what you expect from the file.
Verify what is actually running
- Stop every Conan Exiles dedicated-server process.
- Apply the chosen configuration or startup parameters.
- Start one server only.
- Read the dedicated-server launcher or log output and note the bound game and query ports.
- Confirm the router and firewall rules match those values exactly.
Use the launcher’s port indicators and a controlled test
Green indicators are a first check, not the final proof
After launch, inspect the dedicated-server launcher for its port status. Green indicators on the configured ports suggest that the process opened the sockets, but they do not prove that the router forwarded traffic from the internet or that the provider permits inbound connections.
Test Direct Connect from another network
Do not test only from the host computer or the same home network. Use a player on cellular data, a different household, or another external connection and enter the public IP with game port 7777 in Direct Connect.
- Start the server and wait until it has finished loading.
- From the external network, connect to
public-address:7777. - If the connection succeeds, leave the server running and search the browser again.
- If the connection fails, recheck UDP 7777 forwarding and the host firewall first, then UDP 7778 and the configured query port.
A successful external Direct Connect with no browser listing isolates the problem to browser probing, query registration, filtering, or stale registration. A failed Direct Connect means the basic game path is not working yet.

When Direct Connect works but the browser is empty
Check the query port
Confirm that the browser-facing query port is forwarded as UDP and matches GameServerQueryPort or -QueryPort. The default is 27015. If you changed it for another server, the new value must be forwarded separately.
Remove restrictive browser filters
In the in-game browser, clear filters that can hide a valid server: map, region, password status, battle type, full-server exclusion, and mod-related filters. Search the exact server name after clearing filters and allow time for the list to refresh. A password-protected or full server can be omitted by a filter even though it is online.

Restarting repeatedly can make a server appear to vanish while it is still loading or re-registering. Wait until the dedicated server reports that it is ready, then refresh the browser from a client outside the host network.
Do not rely on ServerSettings.ini for port discovery
No established setting in ServerSettings.ini directly controls browser publication. Name and password values affect how the server is presented or accessed, but changing unrelated gameplay settings will not repair a blocked query port.

Same-computer and same-LAN limitations
Testing a server from the same computer, or sometimes from the same LAN, can produce a false negative. Local loopback and router hairpin behavior do not always reproduce an internet client’s path. Treat an external Direct Connect test as authoritative.
Hosting and playing on one PC
Some Steam-era setup guidance reports that the query port must be changed from 27015 when the game client and dedicated server share one computer. If you make that change, forward the replacement query port and ensure no other process owns it.

Running several servers on one machine
Every server needs its own game port and query port. Because the pinger is always game port plus one, selecting a new game port also consumes the next UDP port. One forum reply gives 7779, 7780, and 27016 as example alternatives for a second instance, but these are examples rather than universal requirements.

Do not copy old port recipes blindly. A 2017 community note mentioned problems with 27025–27027, but its applicability to current builds is unconfirmed. Check the installed build’s launcher output and assign non-overlapping ports for every instance.
The unresolved 26016 report
A Funcom forum answer has advised forwarding both 27015 and 26016 for TCP and UDP to support Steam in-game browsing. That advice conflicts with the official port summary, which identifies 27015 UDP as the query port and does not establish 26016 as a required current port.
Do not open 26016 automatically as a first fix. If the current launcher, documentation for your installed build, or its logs explicitly reports 26016, test it in addition to the documented ports. Otherwise, start with UDP 7777, UDP 7778, and UDP 27015, because those are the defined game, pinger, and query paths.

A repeatable recovery checklist
- Write down the server machine’s reserved LAN address and current public address.
- Choose one port scheme: default 7777/7778/27015 or explicitly configured alternatives.
- Remove deprecated Steam query entries and duplicate command-line overrides.
- Restart the dedicated server and record the ports shown by its launcher.
- Forward UDP game, pinger, and query ports to the reserved LAN address; add TCP 7777 for PC mod downloads.
- Allow the server executable and those ports through the operating-system firewall.
- Confirm the launcher reports healthy port status.
- From a different network, Direct Connect to the public address on the game port.
- If Direct Connect works, clear browser filters and verify the query-port rule rather than changing gameplay settings.
- If it fails, investigate CGNAT, the WAN address, forwarding target, and firewall before attempting browser-specific changes.
What not to change first
- Do not repeatedly rename the server or edit unrelated gameplay settings when the game port is unreachable.
- Do not assume a green local indicator proves internet reachability.
- Do not test only from the host PC or the same Wi-Fi network.
- Do not forward every suggested legacy port without understanding which process uses it; conflicting rules can make multi-server diagnosis harder.
- Do not configure different port values in Engine.ini, a startup script, and a control panel. Select one authoritative source.
