Then work through these eight checks in order. Most are general Steam launch-troubleshooting steps, not publisher-confirmed cures for every Conqueror’s Blade crash.
1. Pin down what “crashing” means
Before changing anything, record the launch stage and the exact error text. Does the launcher fail, does the game window appear and close, or does Windows freeze or restart? A game process closing is different from a system-wide failure and may need different troubleshooting.

- Write down the time of the failure and what you clicked immediately beforehand.
- Capture a screenshot of any error message.
- Note whether the failure happens before the game window appears, during loading, or after reaching the menu.
This helps support distinguish a launch problem from a broader PC stability issue.
2. Restart the PC
Restart Windows, then try launching the game again before changing settings. Steam includes a fresh restart as an initial general check for games that will not launch; it is a diagnostic step, not a Conqueror’s Blade-specific guarantee.

3. Compare your PC with the listed requirements
Steam’s Conqueror’s Blade listing gives the following requirements. The operating-system distinction matters: although the listing names Windows 7 64-bit at minimum, Steam says its client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024. A Windows 7 minimum on the game listing should not be treated as confirmation that the current Steam client supports that setup.

These are the requirements displayed on the Steam store listing; meeting them does not rule out a software conflict or game bug. If your PC falls below a listed hardware threshold, that is useful context for troubleshooting, not proof that replacing a component will fix this crash.

4. Verify the game files
Corrupt or incomplete files can prevent a game from starting. Steam recommends verifying a game’s files when it will not launch. In Steam, open Library, right-click Conqueror’s Blade, choose Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files, and let the check finish before trying again.

The official Conqueror’s Blade FAQ also advises exiting the game completely and using its Update/Verify Integrity option for certain client issues. Use that option if it is available in your installation. Neither integrity check is a guaranteed cure for every startup crash.

5. Update Windows
Install available Windows updates through Windows Update, restart the PC, and retry the game. Steam lists updating Windows among its general checks for games that do not launch; this does not identify any particular update as the cause of a Conqueror’s Blade failure.
6. Update your drivers
For a game launch problem, check the graphics driver first, then other relevant device drivers. Get updates through the graphics-chip maker’s or PC manufacturer’s official update channel. Steam recommends updating computer drivers as a general launch check; the available guidance does not identify a particular driver or version as a universal fix for this game.

7. Close non-essential background software
Temporarily close non-essential apps and retry the launch. Steam notes that background software can interfere with launching, but no particular app is established as the cause of Conqueror’s Blade crashes.

- Retry once, then reopen your usual apps if the crash remains.
- If closing an app changes the result, test it separately rather than permanently removing software without evidence.
8. Check antivirus quarantine if Steam says “missing executable”
“Failed to Start Game (Missing Executable)” is a specific Steam error, not another name for every startup crash. Steam says antivirus software may quarantine a game file in this situation. Check your security product’s quarantine or detection history. Restore a file only if you can verify that it belongs to the legitimate game installation, then verify the game files in Steam as described above. Do not broadly disable antivirus protection or create an unrestricted exclusion as a default troubleshooting step.

If it still crashes, contact game support with logs
The Conqueror’s Blade support portal asks players reporting technical issues such as loading problems to upload logs. Submit the time and stage of the failure, whether the launcher or game process closes, the exact error text, and relevant logs or screenshots. This gives support concrete information to investigate; sending logs is escalation, not a repair by itself.
The developer’s September 27, 2023 optimization FAQ said crashes were a priority and discussed high GPU-memory use and excessive CPU utilization in the context of performance. Those historical comments do not establish the cause of a current player’s startup failure or provide a current crash-frequency measure.
