Control Ultimate Edition’s free version 1.30 update brings Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience, featuring Hideo Kojima voiceover, to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The mission first arrived on PC in March 2025; Remedy released the console update on October 6, 2025. To start it, pick up the Dr Tokui Tapes collectible in the Research Sector’s Extrasensory Lab.
How to start the Hideo Kojima mission
- Go to the Research Sector and enter the Extrasensory Lab.
- Pick up the Dr Tokui Tapes collectible to begin Dr. Yoshimi Tokui’s Guided Imagery Experience.
Remedy Entertainment says the mission features voiceover by Hideo Kojima. Before this update, it was exclusive to the PlayStation 4 Digital Deluxe version. The October 6, 2025 console update notes describe it as available to all players.

Astral Dive Suit, Tactical Response Gear and Urban Response Gear, previously pre-order exclusives, are now available to all players. Find and equip them at a Control Point in the Central Executive Sector.

PC changes
Remedy’s March 2025 PC notes list HDR and changes covering graphics, ultrawide support, super-sampling and DLSS. These are PC-specific notes; the console feature list is different.
Console display and graphics features
The October 2025 update adds HDR, VRR and 120 Hz output support on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with an “Unlock Frame Rate” setting. The details vary across console models and modes, so support for a display output does not mean a fixed frame rate in every scene or setup.

PS5 Pro also receives PSSR support and additional graphics changes. Remedy’s platform-specific console notes give the exact differences; settings should not be assumed identical across PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The notes describe supported settings and changes, not performance benchmarks for every console and display combination.

No, if you already own the applicable edition: Remedy describes version 1.30 as a free update. Control Ultimate Edition includes the main game and both expansions, The Foundation and AWE, according to the official game page. Remedy’s notes say the new mission and outfits are available to all players.
