Recommended 30 FPS settings for a balance of quality and battery life
SteamDeckHQ recommends using the Deck’s native 1280×800 resolution; the guide says Coral Island supports a 16:10 display. Its detailed graphics configuration is:
- Display: Borderless; 1280×800
- Render scale: 100%
- In-game frame limit: Off
- VSync: On
- Temporal upsampling: Off
- Anti-aliasing: Off
- Textures: Epic
- Shadows and foliage: Ultra
- Plants: High
- Post-processing, visual effects, view distance, ambient occlusion, and motion blur: Epic
In SteamOS, set the frame-rate limit to 30 FPS and refresh rate to 30 Hz, then set TDP to 10 W. SteamDeckHQ advises using SteamOS rather than the game’s limiter because the in-game option produced inconsistent frame times in its observations. See SteamDeckHQ’s Coral Island settings guide.
For this profile, SteamDeckHQ reports 12–14 W total draw, roughly 2.5–3 hours of battery life, and temperatures usually below 70°C. These are estimates reported for the guide’s configuration, not guaranteed results or a controlled comparison across Steam Deck models.

The power, battery, and temperature figures above are estimates attributed to SteamDeckHQ and apply to its described profiles. Actual results can vary with battery health and capacity, LCD or OLED hardware, screen brightness, game build, SteamOS version, and play conditions. The guide does not provide separate current-build results for LCD and OLED Decks.
Adjust the interface for readability
SteamDeckHQ recommends UI scaling at 110% and font size 2. The guide also reports that the game includes colorblind filters and a dyslexia spacing option.

SteamDeckHQ notes that brief stutters can occur while traversing as the game loads world sections. In its observations, changing graphics options or the TDP limit did not remove them, so the recommended profile should not be treated as a fix for every hitch.
SteamDB lists Coral Island as Steam Deck Verified and reproduces the compatibility criterion: “This game’s default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck.” Its record also says the default controller configuration provides access to all functionality, controller icons match the Deck, interface text is legible, and Bluetooth or USB controllers may require manual selection. The recorded compatibility test is dated June 22, 2023; the page’s later update date is not a new performance test. Verified status is useful compatibility evidence, but it does not establish a particular frame rate or battery life on a later build. View SteamDB’s Coral Island compatibility record.
