Core Keeper’s console patch notes document a fix for one PlayStation crash involving the cartography table—not a fix for every PS4 crash. If your game still closes unexpectedly, check for updates first, then move through the lower-risk console troubleshooting steps before considering anything that could erase data.
Which Core Keeper PS4 crashes are documented as fixed?
In its console-specific notes for version 1.0.0.16, Core Keeper lists: “Fixed a crash on PlayStation related to the cartography table.” The same notes also list console crash fixes for blocking with a shield and for crafting menus. The notes identify the version but do not provide a publication date. They also do not establish the current PS4 build or whether your installed copy includes that version. Check the game’s update status rather than assuming the documented fixes cover your crash.
What to try when Core Keeper keeps crashing on PS4
Work from the least disruptive checks to the more involved steps. PlayStation recommends checking both game and system updates; the later steps below are general PlayStation troubleshooting, not confirmed Core Keeper-specific fixes.

- Update the game and PS4 system software. Check for updates for Core Keeper and the console, then test the game again. PlayStation recommends both checks for game crashes. PlayStation game-crash guidance
- Power-cycle the PS4. If updating does not help, turn the console off, unplug it for two minutes, reconnect it, and test again. This is general PlayStation advice from Square Enix. Square Enix PlayStation crash guidance
- Consider reinstalling Core Keeper. Square Enix’s general guidance describes deleting and reinstalling a game. It also suggests trying another part of the hard drive before rebuilding the database. Reinstalling is not a guaranteed fix for this specific game. Square Enix PlayStation crash guidance
- Rebuild the database if simpler steps fail. Square Enix describes doing this through Safe Mode. The process may take a long time depending on the amount and type of data on the console. Square Enix PlayStation crash guidance
- Reserve full initialization for a last resort. PlayStation’s PS4 FAQ places initialization after restart, update, and redownload steps, and says to back up data first. Initialization is not an early routine troubleshooting step. PlayStation PS4 FAQ
How to use a PS4 error code
If an error code appears, look it up in PlayStation’s official error-code directory instead of assuming all crashes have the same cause. The directory distinguishes CE-34878-0, an error with a game or application, from codes concerning hard-drive reading, corrupted data, or application-launch problems. PlayStation error-code directory
When reporting the issue, note the exact code and what you were doing immediately before the crash—for example, opening the cartography table, blocking with a shield, crafting, or another activity. That context can help distinguish a documented trigger from an unrelated problem.

When to contact the publisher
If other games work but Core Keeper continues to crash after the basic checks, PlayStation advises contacting the game’s publisher for a one-game problem. Include the error code, when the crash occurs, and whether it happens consistently or only under a particular condition. PlayStation game-crash guidance
