Cosmic Bomber is a multiplayer action-maze game built around a familiar idea: place explosive balloons, break blocks for helpful items, and outmaneuver opponents without getting caught in a blast. Its Web3 angle, as described at launch, added digital characters and Mocaverse Realm Point tournaments—not a requirement to buy cryptocurrency or an NFT to play.
Those details come from the game’s July–August 2024 launch materials. They explain what Cosmic Bomber was announced to be, but do not confirm whether it is currently available, which platforms it supports today, or what reward rules are now in effect.

How Cosmic Bomber plays
Animoca Brands described Cosmic Bomber as a real-time player-versus-player action-maze game. Players place explosive magic balloons to eliminate rivals, move through arenas containing different blocks, and use items that can be revealed by breaking those blocks. The central risk is the blast itself: players must position attacks while avoiding their splash damage.
That loop will feel recognizable to players of Bomberman-style games, while the character and seasonal-content plans give Cosmic Bomber its own presentation. Animoca said seasonal content would introduce new intellectual property, characters, and maps. The announcement establishes the plan, not how much content ultimately shipped.

Which match modes were described?
A Mocaverse post described two formats: a two-versus-two mode framed as practice, and a four-player Free For All. Its August 2024 scoring rules make the difference between them clear.
| Mode or placement | Points under the Mocaverse post updated 19 August 2024 |
|---|---|
| 2v2, regardless of result | 0 points per player |
| Free For All: first player eliminated | -1 point |
| Free For All: second place | 0 points |
| Free For All: third place | 10 points |
| Free For All: winner | 30 points |
These are historical rules published in 2024, not confirmed current scoring. The post treated 2v2 as practice, so its zero-point result did not depend on which team won.

What the Web3 features meant
At launch, the publisher described Cosmic Bomber as offering digital ownership of unique characters and a hybrid economy in which players could earn, spend, and sell in-game assets. It also presented Moca ID as the beta-access point and Realm Points (RP) as loyalty points associated with Moca ID. Players could earn RP through play and competition, then use points to enter special Cosmic Club tournaments and compete on leaderboards.
That description does not establish that players had to buy an NFT or fungible token to play. Animoca’s July 2024 announcement said the beta was exclusive to Moca ID holders, but planned a free full release after beta without requiring specific NFTs or fungible tokens. The planned release terms should not be mistaken for proof of today’s access requirements.

Launch-era tournament rules
The Mocaverse post published on 31 July 2024 and updated on 19 August described a daily tournament with a 50 RP entry fee. To qualify for daily rewards, a player had to finish in the top 45% and score at least one point. The same post said weekly leaderboard rewards went to the top 1,000 players who scored at least one point; players with 50 or more points who missed the top 1,000 could receive 50 RP.
The post also said tournament data would be reviewed for cheating and that rewards would be claimable within 24 hours. These details document the rules announced then; they are not verified present-day terms.

Access, platforms, and monetization: what was announced
Animoca Brands’ 31 July 2024 announcement said beta access was exclusive to Moca ID holders and described a free-to-play full release as the next step after beta. GamesBeat reported the game as free-to-play on web and PC, with optional in-game item purchases. It also reported nWay co-CEO Kristen Salvatore’s statement that monetization would use a season pass, and that tokens might eventually support player participation in the economy.
GamesBeat said nWay might later consider iOS and Android versions. That was a possibility, not confirmation of a mobile launch. The sources establish launch-era descriptions and plans; they do not establish the game’s current service status, current platform support, or whether the proposed monetization was implemented.

What the launch figures do—and do not—show
- Animoca Brands cited 1.79 million Moca ID holders in its 2024 launch announcement. That was an audience figure, not a Cosmic Bomber player count.
- The 50 RP daily entry fee, top-45% qualification threshold, and Free For All scoring were stated in the Mocaverse post updated 19 August 2024. They are dated tournament details, not current verified rules.
- The sources reviewed provide no independent study or current player statistic.
Steve Kuroki, nWay co-CEO, described the design goal in Animoca Brands’ launch announcement: “Our goal was to create a game that’s both familiar and easy to enjoy.” Salvatore characterized the seasonal approach to GamesBeat this way: “It’s a Bomberman style game. The seasonal content will be much more in the form of cosmetics and different season passes,” she said.
