These were prices reported ahead of the U.S. launch on June 5, 2025—not confirmation of offers available now.
What Costco’s reported Switch 2 prices included
Notebookcheck reported the Costco offers on May 23, 2025. Its report described launch inventory and warehouse opening times as uncertain and said shoppers needed a Costco membership to use the deals. The figures below are therefore historical reported prices, not independently verified Costco transaction records.
| Item | Costco price reported May 23, 2025 | Nintendo U.S. MSRP announced April 18, 2025 | Timing and details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle with 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership | $524.99 | $499.99 for the console and Mario Kart World bundle; membership is additional | Reported for the June 5, 2025 launch period. The Costco package adds a year of the membership. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller | $74.99 | $84.99 | Reported as a launch-day price for June 5, 2025. |
| Donkey Kong Bananza | $62.99 | $69.99 | Reported as a pre-order price; the game was due July 17, 2025, not on console launch day. |
Nintendo’s U.S. MSRP list also put the standalone Switch 2 at $449.99 and Mario Kart World at $79.99. Those official prices provide a comparison point, but they do not establish what Costco charged for the separately sold components or whether the reported Costco prices remain available. Nintendo’s April 18, 2025 pricing announcement gives the official figures; Notebookcheck’s May 23, 2025 report is the source for the Costco prices.
Was the $524.99 Costco bundle a good value?
The Costco bundle cost $25 more than Nintendo’s $499.99 U.S. MSRP for the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, but it included a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. Notebookcheck described the membership as normally costing $49.99, making the reported package $25 less than the combined prices it cited.

- Capture Button
- C Button for GameChat**
That comparison is most useful if you would use the membership. If you only want the console and game, Nintendo’s $499.99 bundle MSRP is the more direct benchmark. Also check the game format: Costco’s surfaced Same-Day listing describes Mario Kart World as a full game download, rather than a physical copy. Costco’s Same-Day bundle listing showed the item out of stock when accessed on October 8, 2026; that is a dated availability snapshot, not a guarantee of future stock or a statement about every Costco channel.
How much cheaper was Costco’s Pro Controller?
Notebookcheck reported a Costco launch-day price of $74.99 for the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. That was $10 below Nintendo of America’s $84.99 U.S. MSRP, announced April 18, 2025. The Pro Controller is a separate controller purchase, not a requirement to play Switch 2 games; it is relevant if you prefer a traditional controller or need another one for multiplayer.

What to know about the Donkey Kong Bananza discount
The reported $62.99 Costco price was for a pre-order of Donkey Kong Bananza, compared with Nintendo’s $69.99 U.S. MSRP. The game’s scheduled release date was July 17, 2025, so this was not a game available on the console’s June 5 launch day. The $7 difference reflects the reported launch-period offer, not a current price.

No current price or stock is established by the 2025 launch report. Its prices describe the period around the Switch 2’s U.S. launch, and the Costco Same-Day bundle page was out of stock in the October 8, 2026 snapshot. Check Costco’s current listing and your local warehouse directly before making a purchase; membership, channel, and location-level inventory can affect access.
