What changed in the CS2 map pool?
Valve announced the change on January 28, 2025: “Train has been added to the Active Duty map pool.” Vertigo left the pool at the same time. The change accompanied the start of Premier Season Two. Valve’s January 28, 2025 announcement also said the season would run through the Austin Major.
Was Train in the Austin Major map pool?
Valve’s announcement places Train’s Active Duty addition within the season that ran through the Austin Major, so it confirms Train’s place in the Active Duty rotation during that period. The announcement does not document tournament-specific map selection or establish how often Train was played in Austin Major matches.
Is Train still in the CS2 Active Duty map pool?
No. On January 21, 2026, Valve’s Premier Season Four update added Anubis to Active Duty and removed Train. The 2025 Train-for-Vertigo rotation is therefore a past change, not a description of the current pool. Valve’s January 21, 2026 update
